If This Is A Recovery, Why Does It Seem Like Things Keep Getting Worse?

The talking heads on all the major news shows keep telling us that the U.S. economy is experiencing a recovery. Usually the term "recovery" is accompanied by a qualifier such as "jobless", but they continue to use the word recovery anyway. We are told that the greatest financial crisis since the Great Depression is behind us and that the great American economic machine is roaring back to life and everything will be back to normal soon. So why does it seem like things keep getting worse? Why does it seem like the American Dream is out of reach for more Americans than ever? Why does it seem like economic pain is spreading to more families and more businesses?
Well, maybe it is because things are getting worse.
Gallup's underemployment measure hit 20.0% on March 15th. This was up from 19.7% two weeks earlier and 19.5% at the start of the year. While the U.S. unemployment rate has leveled off (for now), the truth is that job seekers are increasingly finding that all they can get is part-time work. In the vast majority of cases, part-time work will not pay the mortgage or even really feed a family.
All of this economic pain is causing havoc in many American households. In fact, 1.2 million U.S. households have been lost during the recent recession as economic pain has forced many Americans to move in with relatives. It can be an extremely humbling thing to have to turn to relatives for help, but that is what an increasing number of Americans have been forced to do.
But now there are indications that things may soon get worse for

commie recoveries are different, didn’t you know?
There have been more lay offs at spouse’s work this past week.
They Lie!
You must live in that irrelevant part of the country that exists outside of the beltway. Inside the beltway, where these reports come from, things are picking right up.
One day in the country, the government will dole out jobs based on elitism first (the ‘right’ thinkers), the obedient servants, and socialist ranking. Everything good will be snapped up before the masses even know it is there. The masters will pretend to pay us, and we will pretend to work. That is socialism.
They say it is good because Obama is POTUS. If it was McCain, Bush, Reagan, it would be declared to be bad.
It seems like its getting worse, because it is.
This is a socialist recovery, the socialists need to get it to the point of violence, political breakdown and anarchy.
Hmmm,,,,its like the female Democrat from Kansas City that said that she spoke for all the people of Kansas concerning the need for this Health Care fiasco. If you dont get it,,,,look at a map.
I'm wondering how many “Hopey-changey” Obama voters are now having 2nd thoughts when its THEM that are out of work....
Oh, I don’t know: Larry Kudlow was shrieking with joyful hysteria on National Review online about how remarkable the “recovery” is. I must live in a different part of the country and travel to many other different parts of the country than does Larry Kudlow, because its a near Depression where I go.
The unholy trinity of obama/Reid/Pelosi is still in power in DC. Of course things are still deteriorating.
Because it is!!!!
This happened before under FDR. They have been lying about that for 70 years. It only got better after that collectivist tyrant died.
I’ve noticed everyday on FOX’s Megyn Kelly segment, she has a ‘Road to Recovery’ graphic up....makes me want to puke.
Sure Wall street, big pharma, big business, all of Obama, Pelosi, Reid, Dodd, MaxineWaters, Rangel fat cat buddies are doing GREAT.
Main street, those lost jobs, that aren’t coming back, lost their homes, run out of unemployment benefits, small business, not doing so well. But that’s recovery?
Woe the taxes and VAT, health rationing, that are coming.
Because Socialists always lie.
It's the only way Socialism is ever given a chance to start.
If you think the “recovery” is a sham now, wait until gasoline moves back into the $3.50 - $4.00 a gallon range in the next few months.
