Sen. Chuck Schumer, D-NY, and Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-SC, are believed to be on the cusp of introducing a new bill in the Senate on Comprehensive immigration reform.

The Schumer/Graham initiative combines enforcement with earned legal status for immigrants who are out of status or came in illegally.

Washington sources say they are ready to introduce the bill "any day now."

From The Chicago Tribune and other Chicago, Ill. news sources:

Immigration advocates push reform legislation

U.S. Sen. Dick Durbin, D-Ill., vowed to push for national immigration reform at the boisterous West Side rally that drew an estimated 1,200 activists, union workers, religious leaders and families. They waved placards and chanted, "Si se puede," or "Yes, we can," a slogan borrowed from President Barack Obama's 2008 campaign.

"It is time to say to our government -- stop dividing our families," Durbin told the crowd, saying that his mother arrived in the United States at age 2 as a Lithuanian immigrant. "It is time to say to the voices of hate -- stop dividing America."

Obama, who has said he hopes to tackle immigration reform by year's end, has called Republican support necessary to enact changes. A Democrat-sponsored House bill would offer a path to legal status for the estimated 10.6 million people in the country illegally. Plans for a similar Senate bill have the stated support of just one Republican -- Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., with some Republicans indicating they might filibuster to prevent passge.

Hope and change is here...brought to you by McCain and his fawning lapdog Grahamnesty!

Can Graham be recalled? If so, the effort needs to be started now.

I think Ted Kennedy told us in 1986 that we’d never do this again. If true, there is no way we should pass this bill. In the memory of Ted Kennedy of course.

Gotta hand it to Schumer. He is clueless when it comes to reading the mood of the public.

I wonder what Sen Gramnesty is up to?

Just stealing the jobs Americans used to have — I bet that will be a really big seller with the American people.

So, the challenge to these Mexicans is going to be the best way to sneak in....

Great....the "pimps" who sneak them in will be asking for a raise...

Doesn't OUR government know this works yet????

There's no "recall" in the United States constitution ~ you can't recall any Senator or Representative before the end of their term.

Now, for the issue, Graham wants to help out growers in his state who need cheap seasonal workers from the Caribbean.

So what does Chucky Schumer want?

His interest has got to be no wider than the cheeks on his below market rate bedwarmers, or his friendsin the suburbs who hire lots of grass and hedge cutters for their estates.

Thanks for the picture of Lindsey and Franken. I KNEW these two were bedfellows - literally. Lindsey has got to be removed. He is an embarassment to the GOP and to Carolina.

US officeholders — congressmen and senators — cannot be recalled, although there is a test case in New Jersey that may decide it definitively.

If healthcare produced a handful of rock throwing at politicians office windows incidents, illegal immigration amnesty will produce worst violence. Twenty percent underemployment in US and the federal government wants to add more people to compete for scarce jobs. My sense on the street is there will be violence directed against the Dems and politicians.

Unfortunately in my home state, this earns him major brownie points.

Why in God’s name is Lindsey Graham doing this when republicans may have the majority in a few months, certainly democrats will be weakened.

He insists on being the traitor who gives away citizenship to illegals without controlling the border.

The American people overwhelmingly oppose this and this idiot will give the democrats cover to do it. Just incredible.

If they pull this one off the Republic is lost and the once great USA becomes a footnote in history.
