Steele's Racism Claim Slaps Own Party In Face
Newsmax ^ | 7/4/10 | Ronald Kessler

Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele slapped his own party in the face with his contention that being African-American is a factor in criticism of him and of Barack Obama.

During Steele’s appearance on ABC’s “Good Morning America” this week, George Stephanopoulos asked the RNC head whether his race gives him a “slimmer margin for error.”

“The honest answer is yes,” Steele said. “It just is. Barack Obama has a slimmer margin. We all — a lot of folks do. It’s a different role for me to play and others to play, and that’s just the reality of it.”

In suggesting that racism is behind the problems he has gotten himself into, Steele insulted his own party. At the same time, his indication that race is also a factor in criticism of Obama sides with the left wing of the Democratic Party, which sees disagreement with Obama’s policies as evidence of racism.

If ever there were a reason to oust a party chairman, this was it. The job of RNC chairman is to be a cheerleader for the party, not a detractor. Yet Steele’s comments are only the latest in a series of bizarre remarks that undercut his party. .....

The history of events is that Steele can say the right thing, give a good speech, write the correct position, etc., and then the Leftwingtards come out of the woodwork and mistate what he said, belittle and criticize thespeech, and rewrite whatever he's written.

It happens repeatedly.

Alas, the Republican party and the Conservative movement have more than their fair of narcissists who imagine that every word Mr. Steele utters in any way is a rebuke to they, themselves so they're always picking up on the Leftwingtard attacks and amplifying them.

Look, the Democrats only have to deal with one narcissist ~ why do we need so many more than them.

Who is the “porn star” you have in mind to run the Republican party then? (Since it’s obvious you don’t want the party being run at all).

Oh, he gave a good speech. So what? How does that cancel out all the other garbage he’s spewed?

You’re right. Nor does a good speech make up for all his mistakes. Ever hear of the saying “Talk is cheap”?

Steele is a rINO, and worse. Maybe even a democrat plant, to shore up obamma? I would not be surprised, because the republicans would love to do the same thing to the democrats! But most republicans cannot/will not get down into the gutter and fight and scheme like the democrats can!

It seems many are impressed with Steele’s latest speech, which I haven’t heard yet. Did he address his meeting with ‘latino leaders’ and his expression that he was behind amnesty?

[snip]4/1/2010 - The Soros/Tides/Ford/Rockefeller-funded Center for Community Change crowed yesterday that Steele gave them a “commitment” to “to help in securing Republican support for immigration reform:”

Today, ten leaders with the Fair Immigration Reform Movement (FIRM) met with Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele to discuss the future of comprehensive immigration reform in the Republican Party. They walked away with a commitment from Steele to work with Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) and the party’s leadership to enlist another Republican senator’s support for comprehensive and bipartisan immigration reform.

Let’s put a conservative African-American of acknowledged stature in that position. Examples: Keyes, Sowell. I know there are plenty of others.

No sale... I listened to him sub for bill bennet’s Morning in America show many times. He is a pro abortion, pro reparations, pro big government progressive that stated on bill's show that “The era of Reagan is over”. “We need to become more moderate... more inclusive”. Then he called me a racist! You go pound sand pal.

I don’t see how the GOP will survive if we don’t rid the org. of these traitors.

If he played the race card — AFTER THE GOP PLACED HIM IN THEIR TOP CHAIR — then he’s acting more like a Liberal Dem than a conservative.
