I was over there for a long time and this comes as no surprise, . They will never stop because not only are they terrorists who Bush clamped down on their funding but there is way too much money for them to give their terrorist ways up.

shame that there are still some idiots in this country who think they are giving money to a good cause and support them.

Bush did a great job of clsing them down and not bringing them over for dinner and fund raisers after 9/11.
Now bozo is in I would not be surprised we will be hearing more about this kind of terrorism

“Car bomb explodes at Ulster army barracks
Bomb goes off behind Palace Barracks, on the outskirts of Belfast, ahead of today’s planned transfer of judicial and policing powers to Stormont”

Henry McDonald, Ireland correspondent
The Guardian, Monday 12 April 2010

SNIPPET: “A spokesman for the Police Service of Northern Ireland said: “A device has exploded in a vehicle at the rear of Palace Barracks, Holywood. The explosion occurred at approximately 12.24am. The investigation in ongoing, and there are no further details at this stage.”

It was reported that one person was injured in the blast.

Police sources said the bomb was taken to the barracks in a hijacked taxi after the cab driver’s family was held hostage.

It is understood that homes around the army base, north east of Belfast, were being evacuated as the bomb went off, and that some families are staying overnight in a nearby community centre.

The latest incident comes after a car bomb in Newry on 22 February, and a mortar attack a few days before in the village of Keady, county Armagh.”

“Timeline - Increased dissident attacks in Northern Ireland”
Thu Apr 8, 2010 2:17pm BST

SNIPPET: “(Reuters) - Police say the risk of violence in Northern Ireland is severe, meaning they regard attacks as likely, while Ireland’s justice minister has said the threat is as high as at the height of the province’s “Troubles.”

The Independent Monitoring Commission for Northern Ireland and the UK parliamentary Intelligence and Security Committee have also noted a marked increase in dissident republican activity, adding the threat remained very real.”

SNIPPET: “Here is a list of the biggest attacks carried out by dissidents since their campaign hit the headlines in March 2009 with the killing of two British soldiers who had been about to leave for a tour of duty if Afghanistan”

they always did that kind of thing and yet we still have fools who support and give money to them over here.

Palace barracks is where I stayed for some time along with crumlin road jail, no I was guarding it not in jail.

when ever they did their banks jobs or bombings they always took the family hostage and believe me they would kill the family if the guy never carried out their terrorist act.

I swear the IRA, INLA etc are the biggest cowards even for terrorists.

you watch that more of this will happen now bozo is in charge as Bush clamped down on their funding but the IRA are very left wing .
surprise surprise yet again the left wing doing terrorism and killing others in not a fair fight.

Ohhhhh, crap. I once visited N. Ireland after the ‘cease fire’ and had a long conversation with a guy who said , “Don’t ever believe anything they tell you. The ‘troubles’ will never be over.”

Northern Ireland really haven’t been in the news lately. I remember growing up I used to always hear about them. They were the Middle East of Europe.

one of their coardly acts quickly in the time I was over there

we were near the border /crossmaglen and we got a report that a group of men in military uniform and machine guns were walking up and down the town)small town)
as soon as they heard the helicopters they disappeared and went back to being civilians

funny how they don’t want to fight in uniform man to man when we came but instead would rather take a family hostage and have the man take a bomb to a place for them .
or
they sit on a hill with a radar gun and wait for a patrol to come by while they sit a quarter of a mile away and then set the car bomb off

two friends blown up and others disabled now along with the police I got to know over there and one guy who was killed because he gave soldiers candy

SICKENING

“Bomb Explodes In Newry City Outside Courthouse In Northern Ireland! - From JK_Pro On PS3 -”

Video Description - quote:

JKProOnPlayStation — February 22, 2010 — Bomb Explodes In Newry City Outside Courthouse In Northern Ireland! - From JK_Pro On Playstation 3 -

Explosion at Newry courthouse
A car bomb has exploded outside a courthouse in Newry, Co Down.

Police were called to the courthouse after a car was left close to the gates of the building at around 10pm. They were in the process of evacuating the area when the explosion happened.

A police spokeswoman said that there were no initial reports of any injuries.

SDLP MLA for Newry and Armagh, Dominic Bradley has condemned those responsible for the attack.

“There is absolute disgust in Newry tonight, absolute revulsion that we have gone back to a situation that we had thought that we had left behind,” he told UTV.

“The message that people here in Newry are giving to those responsible is that they absolutely reject their activities, they want them to desist from this type of activity immediately.”

The DUP’s Newry and Armagh MLA William Irwin added: “Whilst initial conversations with the police indicate that no one has been injured, there is absolutely no doubt that the evil terrorists who planted this bomb had the intention of taking life.

“The swift actions of police in ensuring that the area was evacuated must be praised and once again serve of a reminder of threat which our police officers face daily.”

Republican dissidents opposed to the peace process will be the prime suspects for the attack.

It comes only days after a mortar bomb was abandoned outside a police station in the nearby Co Armagh village of Keady. That device failed to detonate.

Last March, dissidents gunned down two soldiers at Massereene army barracks, Antrim. Two days later they shot dead police constable Stephen Carroll in Craigavon, Co Armagh as he answered a call for help.

Meanwhile, in September police discovered a massive 600lb bomb in the south Armagh village of Forkhill.

Last month a Catholic police officer was seriously injured in car bomb attack in Co Antrim while a number of police stations have been shot at several times in recent weeks.

“Car bomb explodes near Northern Ireland army base”

SNIPPET: “The blast seems to have been timed to coincide with the precise moment that policing and justice powers devolved from Westminster to Stormont.

Families were spending the night in a local community centre.”

SNIPPET: “Justice transfer

In March, Northern Ireland Assembly members voted in favour of the transfer.
Out of the 105 votes cast in the Assembly, a total of 88 supported the move, with 17 Ulster Unionists voting against.”

SNIPPET: “Later on Monday, Stormont assembly members are due to vote on appointing a new justice minister - the first Northern Ireland politician to take responsibility for justice and policing in 38 years.”
