President Barack Obama optimistically opened a 47-nation nuclear summit Monday, boosted by Ukraine's announcement that it will give up its weapons-grade uranium. More sobering: Obama's counterterrorism chief pointedly warned that al-Qaida is vigorously pursuing material and expertise for a bomb.

WOW, another ‘historic’ meaningless agreement.

Did they really have anything of import, or is it just a total hoax. Lots of countries have uranium in various stages of enrichment.

Wouldn’t it be better to concentrate on Iran and their brand new soon to be installed air defense systems? Like doing something useful, preventing Iran from getting nukes, which they have said over and over again they intend to use.

Isn’t it odd that England and Australia are no shows?

.
Ukraine has a real and immediate need for a nuclear deterrent against the Russians and against the islamists.

It is suprising that they would give that up.

If Ukraine had any sense, they would be building Nuclear Weapons with their Uranium and let everyone know they are pointed at major Russian cities the next time Russia tries to throw it’s weight around in that part of the world.

Why in the world did Ukraine trust the USA and give up the real nuclear weapons they maintained after russia s empire collapsed?
This latest deal is a super nothing burger with cheese.

Yeah, Ukraine's nuke material really kept me up at night. NOT!

What a worthless "summit". Where's Iran & N. Korea?

White House press secretary Robert Gibbs...said the material could be sent to the U.S. or Russia. He declined to specify the amount, other than to say it was enough to make several nuclear weapons.

I'm betting it will be transported to Russia, and some of it will go missing before it gets there...
