Read the bill: Obamacare socks middle class with $3.9 billion tax increase

One more small detail they forgot to tell you about in the health care bill:

Taxpayers earning less than $200,000 a year will pay roughly $3.9 billion more in taxes — in 2019 alone — because of healthcare reform, according to the Joint Committee on Taxation, Congress’ official scorekeeper for legislation.

The new law raises $15.2 billion over 10 years by limiting the medical expense deduction, a provision widely used by taxpayers who either have a serious illness or are older.

Obamas media was just telling us last week how everyone who made under 200K paid less taxes last years because of Obams keeping his promise to cut taxes to 90 percent of Americans even though only 50 percent pay taxes that could have been cut, and now this. Its like a shell game, which shell has our money... Hmmm, they all do!

"I can make a firm pledge, under my plan, no family making less than $250,000 a year will see any form of tax increase. Not your income tax, not your payroll tax, not your capital gains taxes, not any of your taxes."

It also raises taxes on people who use a Flexible spending account. Used to be that you could put aside whatever you wanted for health expenses. Now the limit is $2500.

We used to put aside 5K every year. This limit would cost us another $800 or so in taxes every year if we werent retired now.

I wasn’t establishing blame, I was saying his statement will hopefully go down in history as the phrase that brings him down, among other things.

It doesn’t even seem like he cares what he said, it was just what the people who elected him wanted to hear. They elected him for promises that he had really no intention of keeping. He probably doesn’t think he was lieing, because he never said those things, he read them from the teleprompter. It’s harder to remember things you read when you are trying to make them sound meaningful. Pretty much everything he says comes out in little 3- or 4-word chunks, as they come up on the telepromter screen.

“I can make........ a firm pledge,........under my plan ........no family making less........ than $250,000 a year ......... will see any form ........... of tax increase.........Not your ........income tax,.......... not your payyroll tax,........not your.............capital gains taxes,.........not any ............. of your taxes.”

As far as I can tell, that applies to Flexible Savings Accounts, but not to Health Savings Accounts. HSA isn’t mentioned anywhere in the bill, I think.

We have an HSA. I hope there won’t be any further changes to HSA plans.

HA!

Only if we STILL HAVE JOBS, that is.

They can dream up all they want, but the truth is that we are in a deflation, and people will have less and less money. Period.

I hope there won’t be any further changes to HSA plans.

Since HSA's are funded with pre-taxed dollars, I'm thinking there will be.

We have HSA's too, in addition to incredibly expensive poor insurance. We like the HSA's though..

Now the limit is $2500

The reduction doesn't go into effect for a couple more years. I think it 2012, but I am to lazy to look it up..
