Posted on 04/13/2010 12:53:34 PM PDT by DM1
A new CNN/Opinion Research poll tests some 2012 general election matchups for the first time, and finds that President Obama leads four potential foes: Mitt Romney, Sarah Palin, Newt Gingrich and Mike Huckabee.
2012 Presidential General Election Matchup (907 RVs, 4/9-11, MoE +/- 3.5%) Obama 53 -- Romney 45 Obama 54 -- Huckabee 45 Obama 55 -- Palin 42 Obama 55 -- Gingrich 43

CNN Polls conducted here.
Look at the souce: CNN has no credibility. They will do or say anything to maintain access to the White House.
CNN poll...LOL! Worthless except to push Romneyocialist on us. No thanks.
It is a CNN poll, what else would you expect?
"...finds that President Obama leads four potential foes: Mitt Romney, Sarah Palin, Newt Gingrich and Mike Huckabee..."
Two years before last year’s election was Obama ever the front runner on any poll?
Three years is an eternity in politics. Who thought in 2005 that Obama would be the Dem candidate or that he would win?
It’s a CNN poll of registered 0bama supporters.
In a rational poll, 0bama would barely beat out ground glass and spot remover.
This is a CNN poll-—and I have a feeling that in a couple of years, it will have changed, big time.
IMHO, it’s kinda stupid to have polls out for a presidential election that is a long ways off...........
If ANYONE thinks hussein is going to win re-election, they are the sort of utter fool who watches CNN on a regular basis.
It also says Obama has a favorability rating of 57... I’m not sure.
um just curious but how is this pushing Romney? all of these guys are losing against him (yes i know it is a CNN poll etc etc but still i dont like to see Obama winning).
u r kidding me.
lol i love that post
Bizarro world awesome
Anyone would be better than Obozo.
that is true a lot can change in a short period of time and 2012 is still a long way off but i just dont like to see anything resembling hope for team Obama
I agree. They did the same thing in the 2008 election with McLame.
“Anyone would be better than Obozo.”
Your mistake here is taking anything put out by CNN as “credible news”.
I’m surprised BO is only getting 55% against a few people (all of whom have either been villified or softly suggested by the MSM) and none have even announced they are running for POTUS.
We need a bigger boat!
Bottom line as I see it:
1) Probably a bogus poll. Show me the questions and the actual data with the crosstabs and I can slice and dice it pretty much any way you want.
2) Obama’s approval is below 50% which is the kiss of death forany politician. Not necessarily a forgone conclusion, but any candidate below 50% is considered in trouble.
3) All Republicans are with the MOE, so it actually tells very little. Show me a few polls with the same questions over a period of time, not some goofy flash poll, then we’ll talk.
C’mon people, 2012 is two-and-a-half years away. Most of the contenders for the GOP nod in 2012 will likely not even be people considered frontrunners today. Let’s focus on THIS NOVEMBER.
well it is a CNN poll so you are probably right about it being bogus to one degree or another
Agree; BS all the way.
This just in: ABCNNBCBS Poll shows Obama’s ratings are off the charts!..............
CNN, 2 years away, BS, moving on.
Why is this shocking to anyone? Sure, Obamarx is a moron and people don’t want to vote for him but the GOP choices are:
Romney - passed Obamacare v 1.0 and couldn’t beat McCain
Huckabee - Really? Seriously?
Gingrich - brilliant guy but is the disgraced/polarizing former Speaker
Palin - best conservative of the bunch but a lot of people have an unfavorable opinion of her.
Obamarx loses in “concept” to an “unnamed Republican” but beats all “real” Republicans that are named as front-runners. Huck, Romney nor Gingrich has a chance of winning. Palin will have to go through a huge metamorphosis with the public to have a chance. The best bet is someone like Paul Ryan or Marco Rubio.
No way a radical/socialist who is outed and doesn’t listen to the voice of the people gets a second term.
Republicans have to run the mother of all turkeys to lose this IMO.
Bullshit times 1 trillion!!!!!
This poll isn’t worth diddly.
There is only one person of the group running for the office at this early stage - Obama
yes i agree someone new should be the nominee and none of these also-rans
that being said i saw a poll a few months back that had Romney even with Obama and Palin within strking distance
not sure who the polling firm was though
Troll poll !
I call major BS on this poll.
Way too early for this kind of stuff. This is only put out by the media because they like the results or they want to assist in picking the GOP nominee.
Everybody remember Dukakis was up 17% 3 months out.
Yea we really believe you... Joseph Geobbels would be proud... How is he leading when no one likes him....
I read something last week about straw polls. The candidates pay for the delegates to vote in them....it’s a fixed race for the straw poll, they mean nothing. Romney s not it...he’s got too much of his own healthcare baggage. And f the MSM is gearing up now with this BS, they are truly worried.
excuse me are you calling me a troll? why pray tell i am posting something from RCP that i found disconcerting
just because you dont like it is no reason to insult me
And I don’t like to see anything resembling hope for the Romney team—LOL!
Remember...CNN covered up Saddam Husein’s corrupt “Oil for Food” scam in order to stay in Baghdad. They are totally without credibility.
This poll was done by a Dem polling firm before government run health care passed.
“Huck GOP Frontrunner”
Well he’s better than Mitt though not by much.
why are you insinuating that i am lying? i am just posting a poll from RCP for crying out loud
you have a problem with the poll fine dont attempt to insult me
and incidentally you spelled Goebbels wrong.
