Skip to comments."Day of Silence" in high schools,(and now middle schools),this Friday, April 16!
Posted on 04/14/2010 5:24:05 AM PDT by massmike
THIS YEAR: JOIN the WALKOUT! Help spread the word to parents around the state and around the country! And here's what you can do in your own school:
(1) Call your school and demand to know if there will be ANY activities regarding the Day of Silence, and what day it will be held.
(2) Let them know that your child(ren) will not be coming to school that day - and why.
NOTE: This also applies to private schools and (sad to say) even some parochial schools.

do we have a list of schools getting kids to do this mike?
I see no reason why kids should go to school if the teachers do not say thing all day and the kids cannot say anything, what are they going to do , just sit there all day and look at each other?/
what happened to being just in the bedroom ?
If my children were still in school, I would keep them home. This homosexual crap is getting out of control.
Good day for Straight Pride t-shirts and rallies.
The school districts will have an interesting dilemma, not getting Fed money for student walkout or not getting Fed money for not recognizing *Day of Silence*
Parents have BEGGED the schools -- for more than a generation -- "Just teach my kid to read and write and do math" -- but the idiots in the schools think they know best.
Agreed. If no learning is going to take place, then there is no reason for a child to be in school
Steubenville City Schools is doing this. I just received an email. Here is the contact info: 740-283-3767
been trying to get a list of schools doing this but to no avail ca anyone help me out please
I will be keeping my 14yo daughter home as I have in previous years. Last year, when I called her school to ask about “Day of Silence” activities, I was given some obscure answers about how the school was not sponsoring any activities and had no authority over anything being put together by students...basically not denying activities might take place, but emphasizing “it’s not our fault”.
At first I thought the homos would be silent. Sounded good to me!
This stuff has no place in school.
Wow! This is why I’m relieved my grandkids go to Catholic Schools. I’m invited to the Teddy Bear picnic this Friday at my grandson’s pre-K. :)

Obama's "Safe School Czar" Kevin
"use a condom" Jennings
From the Washington Times...
EDITORIAL: At the president's pleasure
'Safe school czar' encouraged child sex with an older man
September 28, 2009
A teacher was told by a 15-year-old high school sophomore that he was having homosexual sex with an "older man." At the very least, statutory rape occurred. Fox News reported that the teacher violated a state law requiring that he report the abuse. That former teacher, Kevin Jennings, is President Obama's "safe school czar". It's getting hard to keep track of all of this president's problematic appointments. Clearly, the process for vetting White House employees has broken down.
In this one case in which Mr. Jennings had a real chance to protect a young boy from a sexual predator, he not only failed to do what the law required but actually encouraged the relationship.
According to Mr. Jennings' own description in a new audiotape discovered by Fox News, the 15-year-old boy met the "older man" in a "bus station bathroom" and was taken to the older man's home that night. When some details about the case became public, Mr. Jennings threatened to sue another teacher who called his failure to report the statutory rape "unethical." Mr. Jennings' defenders asserted that there was no evidence that he was aware the student had sex with the older man.
However, the new audiotape contradicts this claim. In 2000, Mr. Jennings gave a talk to the Iowa chapter of the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network, an advocacy group that promotes homosexuality in schools. On the tape, Mr. Jennings recollected that he told the student to make sure "to use a condom" when he was with the older man. That he actively encouraged the relationship is reinforced by Mr. Jennings' own description in his 1994 book, "One Teacher in 10." In that account, the teacher boasts how he allayed the student's concerns about the relationship to such a degree that the 15-year-old "left my office with a smile on his face that I would see every time I saw him on the campus for the next two years, until he graduated."
Mr. Jennings' denials about these events reveal a lack of remorse. He has not admitted that he made mistakes in this case, and he now refuses to answer any questions about the scandal. Don't forget, this is a presidential appointee we're talking about. Mr. Obama should make clear what his standards are for public servants serving at the pleasure of the president. Encouraging and covering up man-boy sexual activity are serious offenses. The White House should force Mr. Jennings to come clean.
Send your child to school with a ‘Straight Pride’ shirt and see what their reaction is.
Great info here!
If Christians do it, it’s outlawed prayer.
If gays do it, it’s State sponsored.
Tell me again about the rate of pedophilia in the public schools......
Usually the AFA website will have a list, but so far they haven’t done so.
At least they’ll finally shut up for one day.
If only every day could be a national day of homo silence.
Funny isn’t it? Amazing how far we have came.
If your child’s school allows ‘Day of Silence’ propaganda, keep your child at home April 16
Let your school officials know that if they are going to allow social and political action in class, your child will not be there.
Oh so this is happening in government schools. Hmmm. Maybe you should remove your kids from them and home school or send to a good private school.
But, of course, I’m probably just a koooook and your local government school is probably the best one ever.
Here’s a few examples of how bad the schools in Massachusetts are...
Mass. “Youth Pride” Day - May 9, 2009:
A day of bizarre state-sponsored homosexual and transgender activities for middle school and high school kids.
TRANSGENDER CELEBRATION:speeches, drag queen, entertainment.
Featuring drag queen, transgender Elvis show, “dancing girl” with beard, etc.
PARADE through Boston: kids acting out homosexuality in public.
UNBELIEVABLE: “Transgender PROM” for kids in Boston City Hall.
Bizarre adults, homosexual acting out, drug use, BDSM, and more.
I’ll gladly face the liberal fury and backlash from the school the day after I send my kids to school with air horns.
The teachers do talk. The pro-gay students remain silent. This is something the students organize with the help of their brain washers.
Still, I took my kids out of public schools partly based on this event. They went to a conservative Christian instead.
Would you mind posting that email here. I’d love to know how their handling this.
Fortunately two things: our local schools are pretty conservative reflecting local values here in North Florida.
Second, I am happy my kids are out of school or there would be headlines with my name prominent in the local rags and on TV after 4/16.
My kids are in private schools, but I really resent needing to pay property taxes for the public schools and another tuition to actually have my child get a decent education.
Why can’t the homos pay for private schools that teach their crap?
Why can’t we abolish property taxes and government schools?
Seems like once upon a time, some Americans, at least, got by with neither.
Ah, but if you paid for the schools you like and the homos paid for schools their kids went to, there’d be no conflict.
Wait, make that libs, not homos. They don’t have many kids.
If there were no conflict because neither party was being compelled to pay for something to which they objected, what would government do about education?
The Department of Education (created by Carter) could be shut down maybe.
Perhaps a day of homo’s not spouting their propaganda will be a good thing for learning. The kids will be able to hear the teachers.
And wear a straight pride t-shirt along with religious jewelry.
Fine with me. One less day hearing their whining voices.
I thought it was about consenting adults in private. So why is it in our public schools with minors?
Dear Staff Member,
The National Day of Silence brings attention to name-calling, bullying, and harassment in schools. Founded in 1996, the Day of Silence has become the largest student-led action towards creating safer schools for all students. On Friday, April 16, 2010 members of R.O.A.D. (Respecters of All Diversity) along with other students here at SHS will be participating in the National Day of Silence. During the day, students may be taking a vow of silence for part or all of the day. We wanted to make you aware of the students participation in this day of action, as well as thank you in advance for your support.

NJ school cancels cross-dressing fashion show after complaints [to honor Women's History Month....] (NY Post Posted on Tuesday, April 13, 2010)
A school superintendent in New Jersey said a "misunderstanding" led an elementary school teacher to mandate that all students -- including young boys -- dress as women in a now-canceled fashion show to honor Women's History Month, FOXNews.com reported Tuesday.
"I wish the letter had been clearer and had been worded differently," Maple Shade Township School Superintendent Michael Livengood told FoxNews.com, referring to a letter sent home to the children's parents last week informing them of the assignment. "But it was a misunderstanding. It was meant to demonstrate students' awareness in women's roles, and along with that, their changes in fashion over time."
In a 16-page packet sent home with students of Maude Wilkins Elementary School, teacher Tonya Uibel alerted parents that all students in her third grade class would have to participate in the activity, which had been scheduled for Friday, since it would be graded as an "end of unit" assignment.
"If your child is a young man, he does not have to wear a dress or skirt, as there are many time periods where women wore jeans, pants and trousers," Uibel wrote. "However, each child must be able to express what time period their outfit is from. Most of all, your child should have fun creating their outfit and learning about how women's clothing has changed!"
Maine Commission Moves to Ban Gender Specific Bathrooms, Sports Teams in Schools (Fox News ^ | April 9, 2010 | Diane Macedo)
The little girls' room won't be just for little girls anymore, if the Maine Human Rights Commission has its way.
The commission is taking heat over a controversial proposal to ban schools from enforcing gender divisions in sports teams, school organizations, bathrooms and locker rooms. It says forcing a student into a particular room or group because of his or her biological gender amounts to discrimination.
The issue came to light last year when the commission ruled that, under the Maine Human Rights Act, a school had discriminated against a 12-year-old transgender boy by denying him access to the girls' bathroom.
We will have safer schools when a homosexual activist who pushed FISTING in our public schools in Massachusetts is no longer the "Safe Schools Czar".
Because it is about re-educating the masses to learn the politically correct position.
The Church of Secular Humanism meets 5 days a week, has the nation's kids from 8am-3pm, and is fully funded by the taxpayer.
Note how none of this "observation" reflects on the girl who was abused and harassed by a gang of kids in Massachusetts and was denied intervention by the school system. She felt so rotten by the harassment that she committed suicide and her persecutors are being charged in her death. But she was a heterosexual who'd been sexually active with some of her harassers so she gets no national day of mourning.
It's "not" like a church where there is rampant molestation. Each case of teacher-child sexual relations is "consensual" and a "rare isolated incident". The NEA is in "no way" responsible or accountable for any cover that the teachers get. Some just manage to get reassigned without prosectution for purely mysterious reasons.
17. Get control of the schools. Use them as transmission belts for socialism and current Communist propaganda. Soften the curriculum. Get control of teachers' associations. Put the party line in textbooks.
26. Present homosexuality, degeneracy and promiscuity as "normal, natural, healthy."
“At least theyll finally shut up for one day.”
I think all the kids should shut up in class, when appropriate, but especially the ones with axes to grind.
My kids will go to public school on Friday, but will sit out the even worse day that is coming: I think CA has Harvey Milk day coming sometime in May, right? We will not be celebrating the life of the gay guy who got shot while ignoring the straight people who were shot in in the same incident.
Very interesting. This is brought in under the guise of safety (against bullying). They’ve tied bullying to diversity.
Well then, people who, for religious purposes are against homosexuality, must be protected from bullying tactics, like this day of silence.
Two can play this game.
Thanks for posting the email.
ah you must be near me
my area is more against this than for it and so are the schools and teachers.
Even Christmas they got around by saying Christmas around the world concert.
I called last year about this and the woman and teachers had no clue about it and everyone of them said that is was sick plus they would never allow that sort of thing in the schools here..
thank you St Johns
the parents of that little boy should be up on charges for neglect of a child.
the kids dressing as a girl and wanting to use a girl bathroom is pathetic and what the hell do the other kids think about this boy.
I couldn’t even imagine if a boy did this back in high school 15 years ago in my school
