San Diego Tea Party After Action Report and Photos (4-15-10)

Here are just a few photos at just one of the 10-12 sites for the San Diego Tea Party earlier this afternoon.

SoCalPol and I arrived approximately 90 minutes prior to the scheduled start at the Midway branch Post Office near MCRD (Marine Corps Recruit Depot). There were already almost 200 people at that time.

We had one "plant" that showed up and the pictures below tell the story.

The only sour note was the "End The Fed" Ron Paul folks spouting off their anti war, 9-11 truther propaganda. They really upset the older veterans (proudly wearing their Marine caps and shirts) listening to the Paul-icks ranting that we blew up our own citizens in the Twin Towers on 9-11, and that no plane went into the Pentagon. What a shame *sigh*

Those Veterans were visibly angry upon hearing this garbage.

this group of about 4-5 people all with arrow sign pointing to the guy that said either, "plant" or "Not Tea Party" followed this guy around for at least an hour...everywhere he stood.

We left around 5:50 and the party was just gearing up. It was great!!

It's still going. There were approx. 200 when we left. I will estimate at least 500 at that one site tonight.

We had 10 or 12 Tea Parties spread throughout the city and county.

A friend told me that at the Tea Party in Colorado Springs, they had some “infiltrators” and a crowd of Tea Partiers surrounded them and chanted “USA, USA, USA” and the “infiltrators” couldn’t stand it and left. LOL

There were enough people to line the streets on both sides for three blocks were I was. We sang, "God Bless America," (Kate Smith singing) "God Bless the USA" (Lee Greenwood singing), and others because of a Patriot opening the back of his/her van and putting out speakers so we could sing along. Patriots were honking their horns in support. It was magnificently American!!!!

Many of us (I know I thanked at least three) were thanking the police for what they do. Then, I would say..."We're SO radical, I hope we're not too much for you (smiling)" and they all said, "You guys are GREAT!"

There were patriotically dressed people that came around with trash bags toward the end of the party, and then a guy on a bull horn said, we want to leave this place CLEANER than when we got here, please look around for any trash you see and give it to those walking around with bags.

I was so proud to be a TEA Partier!

Looks like we had big turnouts at all locations, with Oceanside having the most. I think Oceanside is the only venue in the area that had any speakers.
