Skip to comments.White NBC Reporter Confronts Black Man at Tea Party Rally: 'Have You Ever Felt Uncomfortable?'
Posted on 04/16/2010 5:24:43 AM PDT by autumnraine
There aren't a lot of African-American men at these events, NBC News reporter Kelly O'Donnell, a white woman, told Darryl Postell, a black man at a Tea Party rally held Thursday in Washington, DC, pressing him, in an exchange she chose to include in her NBC Nightly News story, to address her prejudiced assumptions: Have you ever felt uncomfortable? Postell rejected her loaded premise that race must divide Americans: No, no, these are my people, Americans.
O'Donnell's story noted skepticism over how the Tea Party is judged and labeled, letting an attendee assert: We're not racists, we're not any of the above that people claim us to be. We're ordinary citizens that love our country, and we're fighting for it. O'Donnell soon wondered if it all may peter out, asking a man in the crowd: Do you think this has enough energy to really last to November and to make a difference?

Democrats and Liberals are possessed by race, gender, sexual orientation, class, you name it. They are the party of labels and discrimination.
Ingrained in to the brainwashed mini-minds of Newspeople is the program that all Republicans are closet members of the KKK. They see their job as exposing the hidden racism. They are obsessed by it.
I’m uncomfortable when a member of the Pravda Media approaches me. I loathe Socialist Democrats.
And the Lamestream Media says it doesn’t have a bias!! PSHAW!
...by the MEDIA and others on the left...
Did she sound panicked when she asked that?
KARL: Well, now, wait a minute. By comparing somebody to Adolf Hitler, you’re degrading him.
Sheesh. Where were these guys when THIS was happening?
Since the 1960’s the left and the elite has been desperate to “Balkanize” Americans...its the old divide and conquer routine...
the reason a monarch keeps a court ...is to play off factions against one another....same deal..pre-occupy us with anything but looking too closely at the latest DC scams....that’s why immigration is such a useful tool to DC...they won’t yield it easily.
‘Have You Ever Felt Uncomfortable?’
Yeah, When a gay NBC reporter started eying my a$$.....................
Very rarely do you see conservatives differentiating between blacks and whites for their own “gain” or agenda.... this is the lefts “MO”..... they are surely the dividers.
The man was obviously off the plantation.
The Dems hate it when a Black wanders off their “plantation.”
“when did you stop beating your wife?” journalism.
This reporter ought to be ashamed of herself (yes I know they do not feel shame). She’s clearly singling out this gentleman because he just happens to be black.
Hey NBC and all MSM:
Blacks make up 12% of the population. if ALL were at the tea party.. 12 of each 100 would be Black, so it wouldnt look like much.
Since Conservative Blacks make up maybe 10% to 20% of the that population that would make approximately 3 of every 100 at a teaparty would be black.
5th grade math which the MSM has no conception of.
Besides.. we dont see BLACKS, we see AMERICANS, another Idea that escapes the MSM.
And WE are the racists???
200 days away.
Those who play “identity” politics would not even consider him to be a “genuine” black man.
Why doesn’t she ask Al Roker that question?
Have you ever felt uncomfortable?
The right answer would have been - “Yeah. Right now. Your question makes me uncomfortable”.
One of the best posters my son and I saw at the DC party was, “The “N” word is NOVEMBER!”

There aren't a lot of
African-American white men at these events, NBC News reporter Kelly O'Donnell, a white woman, told Darryl Postell, a black white man at a Tea Party Homecoming Pep rally held Thursday in Washington, DC, pressing him, in an exchange she chose to include in her NBC Nightly News story, to address her prejudiced assumptions: Have you ever felt uncomfortable? Postell rejected her loaded premise that race must divide Americans: No, no, these are my people, Americans.
I’m sure Lil’ Kelly was disappointed in the answers she received. I really believe these liberal reporters expect the activists they interview to come right out and say, ‘why, yes - we’re nothing but a bunch on inbred, Bible-thumping, right-wing rednecks who want nothing to do with them there minorities..’
If these morons were on the Titanic they would have been asking who supplied the deck chairs.
True. Black conservatives are denigrated by black liberals and the media. It is hard for some people to believe that we love our Constitution and our Country and do not like the direction Obama is taking us.
Maybe this guy didn’t get the memo that he was Black and had to avoice Tea Party rallies.
Come Nov., a demococRAT may become an extinct species.
She’s not hot enough to work for Fox.
With remote in hand and much trepidation I watched all three alphabet networks nightly national news presentations.
On a day when many Americans where focused on taxes and tyranny, all three networks chose to lead with a story of an ash cloud over their glorious mother land Europe. Spending 5 to 7 minutes talking to experts and bubble-headed color commentators, using computer generated graphs and schematics.
When they did get to the story I wanted to see they spent all of 20 -30 seconds and the news jockeys seemed to be dumbfounded and disappointed.
You are much more likely to find a Democrat under the Klan robes;been that way for 140 years.
Why the hell would he feel "uncomfortable"??
These people make me sick....
I was hoping for a lifetime politician being extinct. What do you think?
Oh, I’m clear on that...just a little humor.
Kelly O’Donnell used to make a good living being the young, fresh face of network news. She ain’t so young and fresh anymore... Unfortunately, she doesn’t have the brains or talent to succeed on anything other than her looks.
Dallas Tea Party Invites White People at MSNBC to Anniversary (video)
“We have more diversity on our three-person steering committee than your entire TV network line-up.”
They are the party of victimhood and 'everything envy', seeking to find who has more/better so they can whine they are a victim. Can't be a victim without someone to blame. Pretty normal in three year olds, not so much in those who have reached some form of emotional maturity.
Perfect answer would have been, “No, never, at least not until you asked me that racist question.”
I was at our local Tea Party, and I caught the 10 o' clock news - wanted to see how they covered it. It was about a 5 minute segment. 1 minute was spent on the tea partiers. 2 minutes were spent on some damn fool who tried to get himself arrested. The last 2 minutes were spent on the counter protesters.... and FWIW, the counter protest was so pathetic that I found out I was sitting in front of it, and didn't even realize it. I watched the news and said "Ohhhh!!! So THAT'S what was going on....."
They undercounted turnout, as well. I'd guess that there were 2500-3000 people there, news said 2000. At least they were close.
Really! Polite people would never go up to someone and immediately single him out specifically because of his race unless they’re- racist!
have they no shame?
I’m still highly amused by the various lib talking heads inability to understand the basis for the Tea Party movement. The fact is conservatives and the Tea Party attendees are fed up with the growing federal government intrusion into our lives. For the life of me I can’t understand how Big Media can miss that core message. They think it’s all about taxes, and taxes are certainly part of it. But until libs understand that the argument is about the role of government as defined by the constitution, they’ll never understand conservatives or Tea Partiers.
131M votes cast 2008 x 13% of voters black (NYT exit poll) x 95% black voters for Obama (ibid) = 850,000 black voters for McCain nationwide
131M votes cast 2008 x 74% of voters white (ibid) x 55% white voters for McCain (ibid) = 53,317,000 white voters for McCain nationwide
Ratio is about 62 to 1, no surprise to anybody.
I’ve seen some local reporting on the Tea Parties that is straightforward, decent and accurate. I also viewed some clips last night that made me want to vomit it was so crudely biased.
The question I would like to ask these lib reporters is why they like big government so much. Why are they so afraid of people taking control of their lives without government interference. I doubt someone like Kelly has ever asked herself or her lib friends that question.
