Didn’t they used to get appeased by throwing someone in?
To: Red Badger
Would that be ‘Gorebull Warming’?

Threaten to throw Helen Thomas in there. That volcano would clam up in no time.

I suggested in a related thread sacrificing Algore to plug the volcano.
One might also use Michael Moore for good measure.

Hey! “Eyjafjallajökull” is my middle name!

Apparently Katla also typically erupts following this volcano.
I was thinking this was no big deal, but it may end up being such.

It’s Bush’s fault. Bush and those damned SUVs.
Women and minorities will be hardest hit.

Toss in a couple of liberal Hollywood chippies instead.

Actually it did end for an awful lot of people. The gas and ash from the second volcano killed a lot of people in Europe. The “year without a summer” killed a LOT more.
The scary thing is that two things seem to need to come together to really chill the planet: low sunspot activity (which is actually a symptom of the real cause, a magnetically quiet sun) and a reaaly big volcano or two going “kaboom.”
Short version: Low magnetic activity means more extra-solar cosmic rays reach Earth. Ash from a big volcano means more particles in the atmosphere to become charged by those cosmic rays, which in turn means a LOT more cloud cover. While clouds can hold heat in, too much extra cloud cover blocks so much sunlight that the Earth cools. Voila: Year without a summer.
We have both now.
PS Man’s influence is utterly insignificant compared to either of these forces, let alone both acting together.

Oh, but that temperature MUST have fallen due to this eruption.

Never fear.....my neighbor bought a hybrid so the world is safe now. At least he and his idol, Gore, seem to think so.

According to CNN’s Rick Sanchez, its too cold in iceland for a volcano.

When I grow up to be an environmental lunatic, I want to be just like you. Your single handed rescue of the world is compelling.
