Will attacks on Lowden make up ground for Reid?
Las Vegas Sun ^ | Sunday, April 18, 2010 | 2 a.m. | Lisa Mascaro

Washington — When Nevada Democrats brought a goat and four chickens to Republican Sue Lowden’s campaign office last week to mock her suggestion that the uninsured barter for health care, it said as much about the political state of affairs for Harry Reid as it did his leading opponent.

Lowden was ridiculed by Jay Leno and others for her bartering plan — goats for gallbladder surgery? — read one Democratic missive. Chickens for checkups?

Lowden’s advice for the 500,000 Nevadans without health care coverage was another poor choice of talking points from the casino owner and former one-term state lawmaker who hopes to take down the Senate majority leader in November.

Is she not ready for prime time? Nevadans?

I’ve talked with a few docs that barter. It seems to work out pretty well for both parties.

I have a friend who is a doctor and he’s traded services for checkups etc. before. He was just telling me yesterday that a patient took him and his son fishing for a day in exchange for services.

That's funny, I got $7,500 worth of healthcare from my doctor's group in exchange for doing their website 3 years ago (cost me about $950 in time to do). Yes, Jay Idiot Leno--a BARTER. that and other deals have enabled me to have a very high-deductible plan for 80% less than I had previously paid for insurance. I do site maintenance and pay no visit, shots, or test fees.

MDs who won't barter with me, I pay CASH and don't even bother giving them insurance info (which saves them paperwork), and always get a very nice discount, never less than 30-50%.

Louden meant to "bargain", to negotiate, as she later said. And it has worked for our family, and many others I have shared this advice with.

Bartering is certainly better than robbing someone to get the money for their healthcare, which is what socialized medicine is.

At least barter allows patients to give things of value for care.

What things of value are produced by the libs?

Surely we don’t expect our dollars to be worth a stinky Obama in a couple of years.

And .. why aren’t the Tea Parties supporting this candidate, and instead I’ve read here that they’re supporting somebody else against Reid ..??

I know Rush supports this gal .. so why wouldn’t the Tea Parties ..??

I don’t know her; I don’t know anything about her; I don’t live in Nevada; so I have no stake in the game .. I’m just curious.

“...their business was cited for hundreds of Occupational Safety and Health Administration violations that endangered workers.”
How are casino workers “endangered”? Cards too stiff?
Actually, bartering is an excellent idea. Keeps the middleman out of it, and the IRS in the dark. I’d like to see a hell of a lot more of it.

Lowden’s announcement last week that she poured $700,000 of her own fortune into her campaign

At least it was her money. Reid will use ACORN, Organizing for America, and any other scum he can funnel our money to as a way to cheat out a victory.

Mark Levin is supporting Sharron Angle. As far as I know, Rush has not given his endorsement of any candidate in the race. The Tea Party Express endorsed Angle.

Democrats are idiots, and they are arrogant snots at that.

My Great Grandfather was a country Doctor during the depression (we are close to that now) and he took chickens, wild game, fish or whatever people would pay him with, not that he needed it, but the people had pride back then and they wanted to pay for services.

Hey those goats and chickens sure do beat those Medicaid rates. If docs stop taking government insurance, barter will do. I think tat there are actually some internet barter sites for small businesses.

I don’t live in Nevada; so I have no stake in the game
______________________________________________________________
Yes you do; all Americans have a stake in the game this election. This is one of the most important elections since Ronald Reagan defeated Jimmy Carter in 1980. It is more critical than the Midterm Elections of 1994. And, I know you know this; probably just a bad choice of words. You do have a stake in the game, my friend.

I’d say she’s ready for Prime Time. Here’s what she has to say on her website:

“I’m Sue Lowden and I’m running for the U.S. Senate in Nevada to create jobs, restore accountability in government spending and to fight for your interests over those of Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid and Barack Obama. This is why so many independent, statewide polls show Reid to be losing support amongst Nevada voters. In a recent Las Vegas Review-Journal poll, I’m already ahead of Harry Reid by 10 percent. Still, Senator Harry Reid has stuffed $8.7 million into his campaign and he’s twisting arms for more every day. But I’m ready for this fight. I’m a strong conservative, successful businesswoman, and a former state Senator who defeated the Nevada State Senate Majority Leader in a heavy, democratic district - so I’ve been in tough fights before and I know how to win.”

The part I like best was when she said: “I’m ready for this fight.......I’ve been in tough fights before and I know how to win.”

Looks like KGBCS is going to try to keep their Party in power. Everybody knows exactly what she meant. She should have said another year of Harry and this will be dinner.

Pray for America

From her website: “Sue Lowden has received numerous awards for her community and public service, including the Hadassah Woman of the Year Award.....”

Is she Jewish?

I saw Sharron Angle on CSPAN. She may be the best candidate from the standpoint of her positions, but I believe Reid would eat her for breakfast. She’s just not ready for primetime.
