I do not forget the commando-style assault on the home and family of Randy Weaver, near Naples, Idaho. Death toll: A wife and mother, and her infant.
Randy’s offense: Failing to appear for a court hearing on a charge of having shortened the barrel of a shotgun, which task he agreed to do after repeated requests from an undercover agent of the U. S. Government, with the intent of so compromising him that he might agree to provide information about certain suspected anti-government militia types with whom Weaver was “suspected” of being associated.
“...Randys offense: Failing to appear for a court hearing...”
...that was scheduled on a different date from what was in his official notification.
Actually, the infant is alive and well today, albeit no longer an infant.
14 year old Sammy Weaver was the one you meant, I think. He was the first Weaver to die.
Wasn’t there a US Marshall killed, also?
