Five or more pirate suspects are being brought to the United States for prosecution, a federal law enforcement official said Tuesday.

The suspects will arrive in the United States by the end of the week, The official told The Associated Press. The official spoke on condition of anonymity because the transfer is still under way.

U.S. officials had said last week that as many as 20 suspected pirates held on U.S. ships off the coast of Somalia might soon be headed to the U.S. for prosecution.

The government's decision to bring the suspected pirates to the United States comes amid heated debate among U.S. and other international agencies over where piracy suspects should be sent for trial. Earlier this month Kenya began refusing to take piracy suspects, saying the trials were straining its courts.

What happened to hanging them at sea? Knocks the recidivism rate to zero.

I’d rather hang them on shore in Somalia. No trial, just take them in and hang them at the docks. A little of that and there’d be a marked decrease in piracy.

In the olden days, pirates were staked out in the sea at low tide and left to wait for high tide. That IS cruel (and these days, more than unusual). Just a simple hanging will suffice.

What you do with them is load them up on a plane and drop them out over a suspected pirate safehouse so they crash through the ceiling DOA just to let them know - We know where you are.

This sketch makes Hussein Obama look like a complete moron. ...
It's interesting that a simple sketch could be so accurate.

In my opinion, it presents the Wee Wee in the most flattering manner
It's difficult to capture incompetency, corruption, insanity, laziness and stupidity in a single portrait.

They need to keep the docket at the World Court clear for the prosecution of Bush, Cheney, Rove, Palin, Limbaugh, Beck,...

Angela Davis and Bill Ayers were “redeemed” in the eyes of the New Democrat establishment and today they are taxpayer funded teachers.

Precisely. If an armed vessel is caught attempting to hijack a commercial ship, it should be sunk with all hands aboard.

The survivors? Drop some chum in the water with them and leave them there.

Right, I understood your sarcasm but pointed out the grain of truth in your satire.

Mildred Gillars, a Nazi propagandist who was convicted of treason for her WWII broadcasts (nicknamed Axis Sally but I think she was on the air as “midge” or something), taught at a private school in the US after her sentence.

It is disgusting.

Exactly, everyone on a “pirate” ship must be assumed to be a co-conspirator!!
