The Naked Communism of Earth Day
Canada Free Press ^ | 21 April 2010 | Alan Caruba

Posted on 04/21/2010 1:29:00 PM PDT by K-oneTexas

[Snip]It is no accident that April 22, Earth Day, is also the birth date of Vladimir Lenin, an acolyte of Karl Marx, the lunatic who invented communism as an alternative to capitalism. [Snip] Earth Day is naked communism. [Snip] To begin, it substitutes a worship of the Earth, Gaia, for the worship of God, creator of the universe and the instructor of moral behavior for mankind. [Snip] It is the infrastructure of a New World Order. Do not celebrate Earth Day. Denounce it.[Snip]

America’s Most Successful Communist (Pete Seeger):
By Howard Husock, Summer 2005

"The Popular Front sought to enlist Western artists and intellectuals, some of them not party members but “fellow travelers,” to use art, literature, and music to insinuate the Marxist worldview into the broader culture. The murals of Diego Rivera, the poetry of Langston Hughes, the novels of Howard Fast—all exemplified this approach. It’s an irony that communists should seek to change the culture, of course, since Marxism holds that culture is merely a reflection of underlying economic structures, whose transformation will bring about capitalism’s inevitable collapse."

Yeah, I knew that was Seeger. Funny, I recall him claiming to have disavowed his Communist views a number of years ago. His performing at Zero’s inaugural certainly shows *that* to have been a big, fat lie.

Yeah, I knew that was Seeger.

I figured you knew. I was just providing some info on the "popular front" movement that he was and still is part of.

Shame on me for not reading between the lines of Seeger's renunciation of Stalin. Seems that although Pete grudgingly admitted that Stalin was an evil tyrant, his political compass never moved a single degree.

Stalin gave Communism a black eye - that was Seeger's only real gripe.

...but not that the very first was on his hundredth anniversary. Disgusting.

Keep in mind also the context of the time.

1970, the Glory Days Of The Cold War, Vietnam still going strong, and you've got video clips of hundreds of thousands of protesters in Washington DC.

Do you think the story on Pravda was "American Youth Celebrate Earth Day", or "American Youth Celebrate the Centennial of the Birth of Comrade Lenin"?

We should all strive to better appreciate the world’s endangered species on Earth Day, and to better familiarize ourselves with them.

NYT Writer Corrects Record: Pete Seeger 'Only' 40 Years Late in Denouncing Stalin
By P.J. Gladnick
2007-09-02

The New York Times has now corrected [1] a "smear" about Pete Seeger being 50 years too late in denouncing Stalin. Thanks to the intrepid research of Times reporter Daniel J. Wakin, the record has now been set straight. Pete Seeger was only about 40 years too late in criticizing Stalin.

There are no handicapped parking places in the jungle.

And, if you want to eat, first you must kill something.

The earth can be very cruel to the stupid, lame or lazy.

"Environmentalism is instinctively and relentlessly illiberal, and it is doing more to inculcate people with fear, self-loathing and a religious-style sense of meekness than any piece of anti-terror legislation ever could. If you believe in freedom, you must reject it."

I despise Earth Day. I despise all eco-fascism. How dare they patronize me, condescending to me about “recycling” and “cleaning up”, acting as if I wantonly pillage and pollute my world?

My little boy’s kid channels are awash in Earth-worship today. Thank GOD (not Earth) he’s only 2 right now. (Never mind the Mexican-worship on kid’s shows.)
