I have little than less belief that any nation is going to change how these people choose to live. For change to occur there must be a willing party....Islam will not change therefore the people won’t regardless of the facts they may be presented with. Islam trumps everything else.

To say these people are a backward people is an understatement. We have spent trillions upon trillions in Africa and where is it today. Same will be for Aphganistan....the Imans control and are not going to allow the changes necessary to bring these people out of their dark ages.

Many of our soldiers have reported what they see there. I trust their judgement over that of the political leaderships, who will speak what ever stands to bring them the most gain.

The most that we can expect is the taliban will be defeated and the Imans regain their control. Some villages may find some degree of movement forward while we are there, but once out it will return to it’s tribal ways and wars.
