When Annabel Park imagined what it would be like to head a new national political movement, here is what she had in mind: a coming together of engaged, intelligent citizens who had tired of the angry rhetoric and accusations of the Tea Partiers; Americans of all political persuasions joining in a spirit of equanimity to discuss the nation's problems, and maybe even share a laugh. It was this beautiful vision that danced in Park's head on a recent Saturday as she made her way to Busboys and Poets, a cafe in Washington, D.C., for one of nearly 500 Coffee Party meetings taking place nationwide that day. She knew the house would be fullword had spread quickly on the group's swelling Facebook page. Park, a documentary filmmaker, was especially pleased that C-Span had arranged to broadcast the meeting.
...But then, Park didn't set out to create a political movement in the first place. She was just exhausted by all-Tea-Party-all-the-time on the news. One night in January, she signed on to her Facebook page and ranted about "the false narrative that the tea party is the real America." Her friends picked up on the post and it led to the creation of the Coffee Party. Within days, thousands of people signed up on Facebook.
...All of a sudden Park was a political leaderof what, she didn't quite knowand the target of right-wing fury. Conservative bloggers unearthedscandal!that she had once briefly worked for The New York Times and supported Sen. Jim Webb, a moderate Democrat from Virginia. One online commenter accused her of being a "Chinese agent." The notoriety didn't really hurt: the group now has more than 200,000 members, and every status update Park posts gets about a million views.

LIES right out of the gate by Tuttle--CSPAN has NO record of *any* astroturfing "Coffee Party" rallies.
And note how CONVENIENTLY Tuttle 'forgets' to mention that Park works for barackobama.com with the "Asians for Obama" group, as the leader last time I saw (she was honored in an article there, but the site has apparently been scrubbed and I didn't think to get a screenshot at the time, and looky looky, no search engine features, hmmmmm), and helps make videos for them on
YouTube:
So in other words, Tuttle and NewsWEAK are trying to revive this waste of time astroturf group created by OBAMA and his worshipers, and Annabel Park, the oh, so saint-like 'founder/creator' is a

and the so-called "grassroots Coffee Party" remains
For a very funny, spot on take on this subject, check out this website (some bad language):
200,000 show up for Coffee Party! LOL.

How can someone write this with a straight face? To the writer, the Tea Partiers have "angry rhetoric", but their heroine is allowed to "rant".
"Free speech for me, but not for you!", says the liberal socialist-fascist.

And the kicker is, these people, who have no civility, have the nerve to lecture us-they hate it when we exercise the same free speech rights that they have used and abused for many years-when we want to properly exercise OUR rights that’s VERBOTEN!
We need to stop trying to figure it all out and just put the smack down on these fools. No more Mr. Nice Guy.....

I wonder if they also inflate the number of subscribers they sell to their advertisers.

Oh, you are the perfect examply of why I LOVE FR!!! I learn something new every day!
Went and looked, seems like the original article honoring Saint Annabel as the leader of "Asians for Obama" during the campaign HAS been scrubbed, or is really really well-hidden. Wonder if there's a cached copy of the website from several months ago that could be accessed?

Classic, and embarrassing. Stand by for a few of those “Momentum Is Building” stories that are usually sort of like Taps for a political movement.

How much longer can this rag last? They've had severe problems for quite some time now, so you have to figure the end is near. Maybe all the praise lately for everything Obama is down payment on some type of media bailout?
To: Interesting Times
If they use “Obama’s Rules for Fuzzy Math & Economics”, I’m sure their subscriber base is in the hundreds of millions, if not billions, LOL.

I say let them get together and discuss the issues. Obviously this movement is being ramrodded by big-name libs, but the fact that some of these people actually want to discuss issues rather than forever suck on the bong might be encouraging. One of the biggest reasons liberals are liberals is because they’re basically ignorant about the constitution and reality in general. As Cincy talk-show host Mike McConnell has surmised, most liberals are liberals because they don’t pay attention. They’re mostly brain-dead and act reflexively. If someone can make them pay attention, many of them might actually think about the issues and switch allegiances.
