April 23 11-Year-Old Mexican 'Rape' Victim Wants to Keep Baby
Jana Winter Despite pressure from women's groups, the 11-year-old is enthusiastic about her impending motherhood, according to sources.
An 11-year-old girl in Mexico allegedly raped by her stepfather and now more than four months pregnant says she wants to have his baby – despite pressure from women’s groups who want her to have an abortion, pro-life activists in the country say.
They say attorneys for abortion-rights activists have shown up at the girl's home with plane tickets in hand in an attempt to whisk her away to get an abortion, but the child has said adamantly, “This is my baby. I’m having my baby. I will call my girl Alejandra.”
The mother-to-be, from the Mexican state of Quintana Roo, has become the poster child for abortion rights in a country where laws pertaining to the procedure vary dramatically from state to state.
In 2007, Mexico City passed a law allowing abortions to be performed without restrictions in the first three months of pregnancy. The law was challenged, but it was upheld on appeal. Since then, 17 of Mexico’s 32 states have added an amendment to their constitutions that protects "life beginning at conception," makes abortion illegal and, in some cases, a crime equivalent to homicide.
Quintana Roo, the Yucatan state that is home to the popular resort destination Cancun, has a similar amendment. Abortion is allowed there only in cases of rape and when the mother’s life is at risk, and only within the first 90 days of pregnancy.
Last month, when the then-10-year-old girl’s mother told police that her daughter had been raped by the girl's stepfather, she told authorities that she thought her daughter was 14 weeks pregnant, or 98 days, which was beyond the state’s 90-day limit.

Why is the word ‘rape’ in quotes?
Perhaps consensual but statutory rape.
I think there should be an abortion in this case. Not of the child but of the step-father.

A good leftist would reward the rapist with expensive therapy sessions (none for the victim) and enthusiastically slaughters the unborn child.

If you read the story, the girl is adamant about the baby, and only named the stepfather under duress. The authorities are waiting until the baby is born for DNA testing.
My guess is, the girl wanted a baby. Is the stepfather the real father? Time will tell.

I wondered that myself. Even if this were statutory rape (meaning if someone is trying to claim a girl who was 10 years old at the time was able to give consent), it is still rape.
Those bitches wouldn’t have given that girl 5 cents before.
Tough one. I consider myself to be pro-life, but speaking with the wife (this is her field) giving birth at 11 is extremely dangerous. I do however consider the girls opinions on the matter to be completely irrelevant, no matter what the decision.

When I lived in south Florida, we had a lot of migrant workers in our “Spanish Harlem” type neighborhood. We were the only whites in the whole place and since neither my husband or I spoke Spanish, well, it was just interesting.
Anyway, made friends with a young couple next door and turned out she was only 13 and he was 16. They had two kids already and had been married for two years.

Except the stepfather part. I wanted to clarify that. These were two young people, not a young girl and stepfather.
Seven years? I won’t argue, because I’m certain that this must come from a religious doctrine, but damn, 7 years?
This article from Parent & Child magazine, provides some explanation:
My point is this: at 7 years of age, a child is capable of knowing the difference between right and wrong. If they are taught that abortion is murder (in terms that the child can understand), the child can grasp this moral truth.
The pregnant girl under discussion is fully able to understand that abortion is murder. If she does not want her baby to be murdered, but adults take her for the abortion anyway, then this would be an example of forced abortion.
The moral decisions of children *do* count.
