PHOENIX - Former Congressman J.D. Hayworth welcomes the governor's signature on the new illegal immigration law.
He released this statement to the media: "The Governor did the right thing by signing Senate Bill 1070 into law. It mirrors the 'Enforcement First Act' I authored five years ago in the United States House of Representatives. As John McCain and others serving in Washington have alternated between inaction and amnesty, Arizona acted decisively today to enforce the rule of law and truly secure our border."
Hayworth is challenging Senator John McCain for McCain's U.S. Senate seat in the Republican primary.
He has criticized McCain for his previous attempts to pass comprehensive immigration reform by working with the late Massachusetts Senator Ted Kennedy.
Crickets
Right now he’s trying to work up a smiley face. ROTFL!!!
So?
McCain probably cursing out conservatives somewhere...like in Arizona
So,What?
Any statement Palin made in 2008 is completely void. They did not win the election, so you can't judge her on something that didn't happen under her and McCain's watch. Palin is her own person now, and going forward I'm confident that she will speak out decisively against amnesty.
There's still that statement she made in March 2010, on live television, while standing with MeCain.
There's also a number of very disturbing statements she made in 2010 in an Arizona Republic editorial in which she basically endorsed McCain's 10+ year record of stabbing the conservative movement in the back.
Oh, and one more thing: if you want to take the 2008 statements off the table for Palin, you must also take Romney's little screw up praising Romneycare off the table.
And if you want to take Palin’s incoherent or troubling 2008 answers off the table, then I presume we will be taking her 2008 convention speech off the table too?
McCain — “well friends my crazy wife’s beer business might be harmed if fewer illegals are running around drinking Corona and Tecate.”
I think she actually sold the beer business. Megan was drinking too much of the product plus eating donuts.
The MCCains sicken me.
Only as it pertains to illegal immigration. That was a position she had to take as the running mate.
How about this one supporting TARP and McCain’s push for it. And she trashes other republicans who didn’t go for it.
BTW, the firms...like Goldman who got bailed out are his biggest contributors. No wonder he suspended his campaign so fast to sit down with Obama and Paulson.
[snip] Here is what Palin says in Going Rogue about the bailouts, on page 270.
[T]he House of Representatives rejected a Bush-backed economic bailout plan in a vote in which two-thirds of Republicans voted no. The impression this made on the electorate was not helpful to our cause. Millions of Americans were poised to go bankrupt or lose their savings, and the perception was that Republicans had failed to respond.

I see. So the Palin fans get to choose which 2008 policies were the real Sarah and which were the policies she just decided to sit down and shut up on McCain’s behalf. That sounds a bit rigged to me. LOL
You 3rd-party hacks completely don't comprehend the difference between being a part of someone's campaign and now being your own person. That interview she gave in 2008 is completely irrelevant to any potential presidential campaign or leadership role she assumes now.
By who's rules? That would be a first. Any statement made by a politician is on the record indefinitely.
Sarah was a part of someone else's campaign. Romney, for example, ran as his own person in 1994 and in 2008. There's no flip-flopping there. She has made pro-border security statements recently which means she has formulated her own opinion on the subject.
Sure I can. Losing doesn't negate or change her beliefs on particular issues. Trying to make up rules as you go along only reveals the depth of your desperation to defend her.
If she ran for President in her own right in 2008, then yes by all means call her a flip-flopper. But if she was a part of someone's campaign, a running mate, then the point is moot. Bush I was pro-abortion prior to becoming Reagan's running mate. Did he promote pro-abortion views in defiance of his boss?
Then why is she still endorsing McAmnesty? Why didn't she speak out decisively long ago instead of giving conflicting interview? She'll have to dump McAmnesty in order to oppose amnesty.
You've been told a million times why she endorsed and supported McCain, and even JimRob agrees with what Sarah did. You simply don't spite the person that brought you out in the national spotlight. You pay your respects and then forge your own path, which is what Sarah is doing.
Let’s see, who were some of the other Republicans who didn’t buy the Paulson/Bush/Pelosi BS? Hmmmm. Hunter comes to mind. As does Pence and Sessions and DeMint.
Because McCain supported it.
What part of "running mate" do you folks not understand?
