WASHINGTON -- Sections of court papers filed by scandal-scarred former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich that were mistakenly made public show a deeper involvement by President Obama in picking his Senate successor and call into question the president's public statements on the case.
According to passages in the papers filed Thursday by Blagojevich's lawyers -- which were blacked out under a judge's order but made visible by a computer glitch -- Obama, then president-elect, spoke directly to the disgraced governor on Dec. 1, 2008.
But just one week later -- on the day Blagojevich was indicted -- Obama told reporters flatly, "I had no contact with the governor or his office, and so we were not -- I was not aware of what was happening."

You are absolutely correct. It was there last night and I read all the links. It’s all gone, photos of Blago with Obama and all, and it’s not like they had to make room for some other breaking story. There’s nothing in its place except that ridiculous report about the face transplant, which was there all along anyway. This is too convenient. Somebody got to Drudge. It’s getting swept under the rug. Censored. So much for a “free” press being essential to the practice of liberty.
It sounds to me like the judge and the feds were already trying to ‘fix’ things for Obama by ‘redacting’ the incriminating evidence in the first place. Who is Martin Nesbitt and Eric Whitaker?
Of course, just as this news comes out, the info about the porn watching at the SEC gets leaked and all the media whores follow that story instead of the news about our thug, lying president. How convenient...(eye roll)
I can’t wait to hear the pundits say that all politicians lie, it’s no big deal. Nothing new to report. They’ll try to condition the masses into thinking it’s not Mr. Obama’s fault that he lies, it’s just part of the culture of politics. And it’s Bush’s fault.
I think if these “journalists” ever actually looked at what they do for a living they would be massively depressed. They’re entire contribution to the world of journalism is to play with the thesaurus while they carefully retain the content of the script they were assigned to write.

Blago witness Rezko moved to new jail

Tony Rezko, a Chicago businessman linked to President Barack Obama and Illinois’ former governor, has been moved to a new federal lockup, a U.S. marshal said.
Kim Widup, the head marshal in Chicago, told the Chicago Sun-Times that Rezko was transferred to an unspecified facility from the downtown Metropolitan Correction Center last month.
Widup wouldn’t reveal the current whereabouts of Rezko, who is considered a potential witness in the upcoming federal corruption trial of former Gov. Rod Blagojevich, who was impeached and removed from office by the state Legislature.
The newspaper said Tuesday that Rezko had been grousing about being held in solitary confinement at MCC and that the transfer could indicate that federal prosecutors want to keep him cooperative.
