Do Blacks Have a Reason to Vote GOP? Michael Steele Says No
CBS ^ | 4/22/10 | Stephanie Condon

Posted on 04/24/2010 6:40:43 PM PDT by blueyon

The Republican Party has not given African Americans a good reason to vote for the party, Republican National Committee Chair Michael Steele said Tuesday night.

"You really don't have a reason to, to be honest -- we haven't done a very good job of really giving you one. True? True," Steele said at DePaul University, the Chicago Sun-Times reports. Steele, the first African-American chairman for the RNC, said the GOP has lost its historical link to African Americans.

"This party was co-founded by blacks, among them Frederick Douglass," he said. "The Republican Party had a hand in forming the NAACP, and yet we have mistreated that relationship. People don't walk away from parties, their parties walk away from them."

IT IS NOT ABOUT COLOR OF SKIN, STUPID STEELE!
IT IS ABOUT PRINCIPLES REGARDLESS OF MELANIN.
We want to give a helping hand not hand outs,
if anyone doesn’t like it, scram Sam.

Michael Steele is just heart breaking. Of all people in the country who should understand that the message of learning and living the principles on which we were founded has the potential to raise everyone whatever their status starting out in life, it should be him.

And then he goes out there with the story line that the government should promise you stuff and all will be well. Is that what he is saying?

A prediction: when this jerk is given the heave-ho from his position as head of the RNC, he will defect to the ‘RATS.

Pandering to the “black” vote is the province of the Demorats. More entitlements, Muslim friendly, bigger government, more public employment, etc. Blacks don’t vote for anything else except in microscopic numbers which votes the GOP already gets. Forget them. Grievance politics is a loser’s strategy.

The republican party has spent tons of money and time over the last decade on “black outreach”. I remember when President Bush would make his yearly pilgrimage to the NAACP convention. For what? Blacks support democrats at the same rate they did before the outreach. Eventually it comes to a point where Republicans need to cut their losses and tell the black community, “This is what we believe, take or leave it. If your interested call us, we’re done calling you.”

How about this for a reason?

“The GOP is not the one that’s been the Party of Slavery for 200 years!”

The Democrat party has; using people of African ancestry to convert cotton seeds to cotton bales before The Late Unpleasantness, terrorizing them via the KKK for 100 years after that, and today enslaving them again on the big-city urban plantations, using them to convert other people’s money into votes.

“If Steele really believed this then why would he serve as RNC Chairman?”

He’s like that jerk Colin Powell I would guess. He’s taken what he needed with this job, and I’m betting will flip like a pancake sooner or later and do just what Powell did. I didn’t really see it coming from Steele, but I always knew Powell was a dbag. When Schwarzkopf says some one is a dbag I believe it.

So does Steele think the GOP should start promising more gov’t cheese? — bigger welfare checks, slavery reparations, etc. Is THAT his plan?

Got a call from the RNC, told them that as long as Steele was in charge not to call me again.

In this interview he should have pointed out, that Republicans never lynched a Black man, never sicked dogs on them, never used high pressure hoses on them, did not filibuster the Civil Rights Act, never had a KKK member in their ranks of Senator, never blocked the school doors to
a child. and many more examples that the RNC fails to point out.

below is a typical response to his interview.

The nickname for the GOP should be “POK” “Party Of the Klan”

then we can all laugh about how disfigured they all are for being “POK marked” LOL”

They sent me a fundraising email the other day. I replied and said “Not one red cent until Michael Steele resigns and is replaced by someone with a brain.”

Michael, Americans have a reason to vote GOP, provided the GOP stands for getting the government out of our hair and out of our pocketbooks, and back in the servants' quarters where it belongs.

The last I looked, Americans come in all colors.

African American's are 8% of the population, probably less of the voting population, in other words they do not represent a significant block by themselves, only as part of an entitlement minded coalition. Republicans need to sway the independent suburban voters (Reagan Democrats) back into the party, not inner city blacks. Harsh words but the political truth nonetheless.
