Adios, Baby! Barbara Simpson reveals immigration outrage brewing in U.S.

There'll be quite a scene in Washington May 19 if Mexican President Felipe Calderon keeps his date to address a joint session of Congress. He'll also be honored at a White House state dinner.

The cool, calculating and composed U.S. president is going to have his hands full that day trying to navigate diplomacy and the almost guaranteed uproar about immigration that will test decorum on every level.

I've been a little amused over the last couple of days where liberals have been having these paroxysms of rage about Arizona. You would think they would be saying thank you. That's what you'd think!

Failing to sufficiently appreciate all the hard work Obama's done to secure U.S. borders (which amounts to zero), Arizona enacted a law last week allowing police to check the immigration status of the hordes of illegal invaders in Arizona. Or, to borrow MSM lingo regarding the passage of ObamaCare, Arizona last week SUCCESSFULLY enacted a SWEEPING and HISTORIC and TRANSFORMATIVE and AMBITIOUS measure that Americans have long demanded -- otherwise known as "police work". As a bonus, it doesn't cost a $1 trillion.

In response, renowned immigration expert Barack Obama accused Arizona of 'recklessly' defending itself. He complained that efforts by the Arizona legislature to enact a bill that upholds U.S. law on illegal 'immigration' "threatens to undermine basic notions of fairness." He determined this absent the basic notion of actually reading the bill.

Obama's basic notion of fairness lovingly consists of getting murdered in cold blood on your own property by Mexico-based drug traffickers. Arizona rancher Robert Krentz was recently shot and killed on his own ranch by illegal alien criminals pursuing Obama's basic notion of fairness. (In a mysterious break with past practice, Janet Napolitano didn't immediately say 'the system worked.')

Liberals have been stomping their feet hysterically for weeks because states like Arizona aren't meekly surrendering to ObamaCare. Now libbies are hysterical because Arizona is upholding U.S. law. Just when you think they would say thank you.

Libbies wailing that Arizona is 'usurping' federal law in dealing with the state's 500,000 illegal aliens heap praise on the 'brave' and 'noble' "Sanctuary cities" because they're violating federal law.

In fairness, left-wingers do make exceptions to their love for porous borders. In fact, they can be amazingly pro-enforcement of certain borders -- such as the borders of East Germany during the Cold War, to take just one example off the top of my head. Why, left-winger Erich Honecker was big on border control! East Germans trying to cross over to join the ruthless capitalist hell-hole on the other side were routinely shot and killed by darling East German community organizers, or "border guards." When the Left builds walls and barb wire fences along a border, it's to keep people from escaping their 'superior health care' system and 156% literacy rates.

Just before they decisively lost the Cold War, American liberals warned that the fall of their beloved Berlin Wall and the reunification of Germany would magically turn all Germans into Nazis. West Germans weren't sufficiently "de-Nazified" according to liberals, so reunification could mean polluting East German minds with the sick and twisted ideas of private property and "business". Liberals were all in favor of border enforcement then, especially a booby-trapped, barb wired, mine-laced artificial border erected by the 'heroic' East Germans and Soviets. Twenty years later, the closest thing to Hitler isn't Angela Merkel but Ahmadinejad, whom Obama can't suck up enough to.

And, to pick another random example of liberals favoring border control (when it's convenient) -- Cuba. Liberals applauded wildly when Janet Reno saved America from the grave threat of Elian Gonzalez. Interestingly, after the threat was successfully repelled and the little 'reactionary' monster was shipped back to Cuba at gunpoint, we didn't hear the usual babble from liberals about the 'dangers' and 'risks' of 'alienating' the 'Hispanic vote'.

Historically, since most Cubans who fled Castro's 'world-class' socialist achievement have the sense to become Republicans seconds after attaining citizenship, liberals demand strict limits on how many Cubans are allowed to immigrate here, with the goal being zero. If Cuban-Americans were a Democrat voter bloc, Elian wouldn't have been deported.

It all boils down to voter profiling. Liberals have the hots for illegal Mexican and Central American 'immigration' since most eventually vote Democrat upon becoming citizens. With Cuba, liberals demand enforcement of the 'wet feet, dry feet' policy. Libbies howl that in Arizona a speeding van loaded with human 'cargo' and having an expired tag could now arouse 'reasonable suspicion' that something illegal might be happening, yet liberals vigorously chase a little boy back to Cuba because he wasn't a drug trafficker. There's hypocrisy in there somewhere.

Anyway, that's...

Sounds good to me

The whole country owes thanks to the people of Arizona for leading the way on this issue. In addition to the obvious merits of the legislation, the Arizona measures appear to have thrown the carefully oiled Amnesty engine off the tracks. Instead of listening to drippy lamestream media messages about poor Juan and Maria illegal immigrant having their families broken up by mean old America, we are seeing in your face rage from rioters in Phoenix and threats of civil disobedience. And these are the flaming morons who have been accusing the Tea Parties of fomenting violence!

This is not the way the pro-Amnesty rollout was supposed to happen. Thank you Arizona. Time for this approach to go viral among the states.

The anti-America crowd that I've known from Mexico thinks that America has success and prosperity only because of the space we occupy. Their reasoning is that if Mexico occupied the same physical space, it would be just as successful.

The reality is that we are successful through the efforts and sacrifices of our citizens, and up until now because of our system of government that has allowed our citizens to achieve and prosper on the basis of their own efforts. If Mexico, with its same attitudes and corrupt politicians occupied the same physical space as the US, it would still be Mexico, and still be an underachieving nation. They have resources. As a nation Mexico has no one to blame but Mexico for its ills. We should be sending them monthly bills.

I agree with both the sense and tone of your essay.

I have just one question. Since you have thus self-described, what the heck is a “Hispanic” anyway?

Is that like a Spaniard with the hiccups?

(I have long wondered about this, but my curiosity was brought to a head this weekend with the thread about Evo Morales, who bears not only the look, but the surname of a Spaniard, yet refers to himself as an “indigenous” person.)

The whole country owes the people of Arizona for leading the way on this issue. In addition to the obvious merits of the legislation, the Arizona measures appear to have thrown the carefully-oiled Amnesty engine off the tracks.........

THIS JUST IN Violent Pro-Illegal Immgration Protest in Arizona; They are now openly attacking Americans with no consequences.... What's Calderone gonna tell Congress---the illegals who are attacking Arizonans with impunity are gonna make exemplary American citizens?

The more rights these people get, the more they show their Third World ignorance-----and their inability to circumnavigate the mechanics of a free government. The savages intend to bludgeon Americans into submission.

Ohaha is smoking something illegal if he thinks Americans will accept Third World mob rule on his say-so. Problem is we Americans do not have a government that will protect us. Illegals are protected by two governments----ours and their homeland.

The Obama admin is a willing dupe of Mexico----dutifully reciting latino agit-prop. Obama kneels in obeisance to La Raza, and amnesty supporters on Capitol Hill...... to suckup illegal votes that will hopefully climax in Nov wins. He sent Michele Ohaha to ol' Mehico the other day, to get Dems' marching orders from Calderone......so that desperate Dems can nail illegal votes.

I just hope to heaven that the First Lady's got what it takes to suckup.......and that she brought enough kneepads to perform multiple Mexican BJs. (/snix)

Obama's treacherous plan to award US citizenship to illegals is a con game. Illegals are dual citizens who swear allegiance to their home countries. THEY INTEND TO RETURN THERE----AFTER THEY DRAIN THE US TREASURY.

The violence just keep on a-coming.....thanks to the conniving, corrupt Mexican government. This crowd better wakeup; they are going to have a problem inflicting Third World savagery on America.

Things endemic to the Third World----serfdom, slavery, ruling elites, armed street patrols, mob rule, bribery as a way of life----do not fly here.

Our Kenyon Kakistocrat says the Arizona law "threatens to undermine basic notions of fairness."

Well it's politics in Obama's case but what of Republicans who say that there must be amnesty lest we "lose the Hispanic vote."

California Prop 187 did not "lose the Hispanic vote" it got thirty+ percent, just about average what a Republican gets. Arizona's version of Prop 187 got fifty percent of the Hispanic vote I believe.

I'm listening to a re-run of the John Gibson show. He says Republicans must back amnesty (he admits that there's no other word for it) if Republicans ever hope to "get the Hispanic vote."

Why do Gibson, et al have the feeeeeeeelings that Americans of Hispanic origin cannot or will not respect the heritage of our great Republic as a nation of laws not men?

Why do Gibson, et al persist in insulting Americans of Hispanic descent?

To me Gibson is saying that Americans of Hispanic descent have no use for America except to advance the Hispanic ethnicity -- many of whom come from families of such long-standing that they probably don't even know their country of origin!"

Clinton filled Sport Stadiums with “New Cit zens” and handed out voter registration directed to vote Democrat. We will never take back this country if we don't fight like the brave AZ governor and government.

It’s migration, soon to be mass migration when drug cartel violence forces Mexico’s remaining citizens to run for their lives. Then we either close the border, which will be denounced as mean and cruel by Liberals: Mexicans are asylum-seekers. Or we invade Mexico and devote billions, trillions we don’t have to fixing the infrastructure and educating the lower class. This is called nation building. A subset is the One Happy Hemisphere crowd who want open borders from pole to pole. (CFR and pals.) Either way, prepare to stand in the street in a barrel. As long as the present gang thugs occupies the WH and congress, we don’t stand a chance of saving this country.

I work in a %95 Hispanic community. You;d be VERY VERY surprised how many hard working AMERICANS of Hispanic background who do not want to have more of their pay check raped by the government to pay for illegal immigrants.

I know what you mean but I just want to state that I am not the least bit surprised.

I have yet to find an explanation from any we're-going-to-lose-the-Hispanic-vote, pro-amnesty Republican who would be floored to learn that Americans of Hispanic backgrounds are Americans first. Is it the "cheap," taxpayer-subsidized labor that blinds them? I wonder.

“she called Calderon “our neighbor and friend” and said we’d be looking forward to hearing his “message”
What sort of friend and neighbor lets his relatives break into your house every day and rip you off, then complains when you call the cops.

Hey what’s the matter with all you right wingers?

Don’t you realize it’s O.K. for progressives to have a majority in perpetuity as a result of
“immigration reform”?

Well, we can certainly learn a lot about what the Left really wants from watching their reaction to the Arizona law.

Maybe the whole solution to this big problem would be for Mexico to give up their country to the United States.

I mean, seems Mexico isn’t doing such great job and all those Mexicans (and others following close behind) want to be Americans. They want to reap the benefits of American policies and freedoms.

If Mexico becomes a United States, we wouldn’t have to worry about that border anymore. Some savings - no need for border patrols or fences. Maybe even downsize INS. The crooks in our government could reap the windfall of more taxes. We could spend more time dealing with the drug trade instead of hunting down illegals. And, we could handle the drug cartel and gangs as we would any terrorist group.

Let’s put the pressure on Mexico (and their reps in our country) to give up their country since they can’t do a better job and their citizens are fleeing.

Now that is my 2 cents!
