I'm sorry to say that Rove has been a guest speaker of The National Council of La Raza in the past. He is sympathic to their cause.

"Everything that this country is, everything that we have achieved, everything that we hold, everything that we promise, is because we are a nation of diversity, brought together by immigration, and sharing a common dream... [the immigration "debate" has] clouded the views of some people in America and led them to fail to understand that Hispanics, and all immigrants, are real Americans... It is vital that our county not fall into this trap..."

He said this and more standing behind the NCLR podium.

Here is the link, it basically repeats federal law, not what the lame stream media says federal law is.

Always read the bill ... It's the freeper first law of understanding what is going on ... LOL

In fact, folks could walk up to the cops and insist they are illegal...and crush the state’s law enforcement system easily.

I'll bet that Sheriff Joe could put up some chain link fence and tents in the desert to hold any number of liberals who want to visit and play 'illegals' in Arizona.

what is so scary about this law, help me understand.

Nothing. It enforces existing federal law and lets the police do their jobs. That's it.

This Arizona law is exposing more than illegal immigrants, it’s revealing those who don’t really support enforcing our border laws, and how our country has got in the mess we are currently in.

“Imagine this...five thousand leftists arrive in Arizona over the weekend and every time a cop asks who they are...the response is ‘Juan Lopez’.”

.
Imagine them in jail for lying to a peace officer!

Let it roll. (Troll)

Rove is no doubt a big part of the reason we have a half-rican socialist idiot in the White House today.

If the Rovian influenced Bush administration had taken care of the illegal alien/border security problem after 9/11 there would barely have been a wimper and the problem would have been over and done with.

Instead, President Bush spent his time and political capital setting up over-the-top, show-boat security at airports while illegals of all stripes and nationalities continued to walk across the borders as they pleased.

Then he took the pro-illegal, pro-amnesty route and chose to fight with his own base rather than close the borders.
Now the illegal alien, open border problem is larger and much worse than it was 9 years ago and getting worse every day.

Are Obama and his wacko leftist majorities in congress even worse than Bush?

Of course they are! But if Republicans had taken care of the problem 9 years ago it wouldn’t matter what democrats think in 2010 and, in fact, Obama probably wouldn’t even be in the White House today.

Maybe Rove should read the USC.

With a hat-tip to TornadoAlley3:

Federal Immigration and Nationality Act
Section 8 USC 1324(a)(1)(A)(iv)(b)(iii)

State and local law enforcement officials have the general power to investigate and arrest violators of federal immigration statutes without prior INS knowledge or approval, as long as they are authorized to do so by state law. There is no extant federal limitation on this authority. The 1996 immigration control legislation passed by Congress was intended to encourage states and local agencies to participate in the process of enforcing federal immigration laws. Immigration officers and local law enforcement officers may detain an individual for a brief warrantless interrogation where circumstances create a reasonable suspicion that the individual is illegally present in the U.S. Specific facts constituting a reasonable suspicion include evasive, nervous, or erratic behavior; dress or speech indicating foreign citizenship; and presence in an area known to contain a concentration of illegal aliens

This man has no principles. As far as politics are concerned, to Rove it is a GAME ... would not matter which team he was playing for. It is all about winning.

Seriously, if a cop asked you today to prove you’re a citizen, what document would you show to convince him

A driver's license.

Rove and O’Reilly are the main reasons I’ve practically stopped watching Fox News.

Rove was about the biggest advocate of the pandering to Hispanics strategy during W’s two terms, and that nitwit strategy is probably the single biggest reason the GOP went from one of its strongest positions ever after the election of 2004, to one of its weakest ever after the election of 2008.

He can’t admit what a mistake that was, and here he is again along with others who’ve done so much to weaken the party.

If this is the case then the cop won’t have to ask any questions.

In your example an illegal could have all that. I’ve read about people getting busted here in Houston who’ve been here for 12 years and own homes. Still illegal.

Now, per your example, what about the citizen who doesn’t own a home, no insurance, etc. Plus he’s Hispanic. I still hear BORN IN EAST L.A. by Cheech Marin.

Most illegals have a driver’s license. And what about a citizen who jay walks and he doesn’t have a driver’s license.

All the damn talking heads and the AG Holder, need to shut-up and butt out.

Holder had the colossal nerve today to state that he was thinking of challenging Arizona’s law because of the “potential or fear of abuse”!!!!

Since when do we base law suits on “fear of possible or future abuse”?

I'll bet that Sheriff Joe could put up some chain link fence and tents in the desert to hold any number of liberals who want to visit and play 'illegals' in Arizona...

They might win the jackpot, and be charged with obstruction of justice.

I'm sure Sheriff Joe has plenty of tents, baloney sandwiches and pink underwear.

Well no, most illegals don't have a DL.

As for the citizen who jay walks and doesn't have ID, why would anything happen differently than now?
