At the very least the drinking and voting age should be upped to 27 to accord with the new 0bama-standard.
Folks, this is gonna back-fire big time on the teachers & administators because don’t think for second that the tax paying parents don’t know the teachers are at/near 100K plus full medical & retirement.
THIS WILL BE A BIG WIN FOR REPUBLICANS
Lock the doors and don’t let the little brats back in.
They tried to have a ‘sit in’ at my daughters school
I told her she could only participate of she held up a sign demanding administrators be cut and salaries and bene’s cut BEFORE any student activities be cut (again)
In our highly conservative area of town I am guessing a lot of parents did the same because they eventually called it off.
So that makes 480,000 for a class of 30.
If we pay the teacher $100,000/year.......where did the other $380,000 go?
These students might consider getting a job, and paying their own way! I wonder how many picket their parents when they lose their allowances?
Here in Alberta, about 1994, the government mandated a 5% wage rollback for every government employee, including teachers.
My kids were in school then and the teachers tried to make them walk out in solidarity. My kids and others refused, and the teachers ended up pulling the fire alarm to force them out - right into the gaping maws of the media cameras.
That was the last time I ever volunteered in the schools.
cheers
Jim
Hmmm...TAXPAYERS should just WALK OUT....stop paying the schools taxes....see how they like THAT
they did that
disgusting
teachers and the far left have been using kids for far too long and yet many in our countries stay silent which is not working
good for you raising yuour kids right and letting it be known that they the teachers were wrong
It was probably a very good excuse to walk out of school - it was for the teachers.
Of course our unionized highly trained, education professionals are behind this.
The problem is that free government daycare, which we kid ourselves about by calling it “education,” is middle america’s favorite welfare program. The whole system would almost immediately collapse if any significant percentage of parents just walked out. Then we could have a real discussion about spending and education as district after district goes into a financial death spiral and the unions collapse.
But, no, we are addicted to aid-to-dependent-parents and will try to keep the scam going as long as possible even though it is destroying our children, our communities, our culture, and our country.
And lose their houses?
Most of those young moronic minds are in it because it’s the cool thing to do and get out of class for a day. And to think that approx 2/3rds of property taxes goes toward public schrewl funding—one expensive extortion for producing a rotgut product.
Hmmm I am surprised students even bothered to walk out. It was raining here today.
I’d love to take credit for my kids’ action, and maybe we did bring them up right, but they did it on their own.
I was - and am - so proud!
cheers,
Jim
There was a teacher’s strike here in Orange County CA that just ended.
I saw lots of teachers, not so many students. My daughter and her homeschooled friend at their dance studio were amused. The other girls were panicking over AP exams soon, and didn’t know what to do to help themselves study for it. They were used to the teacher giving them lectures. They thought they couldn’t teach themselves. Sad, really, when you think about it.
“Most of the state’s teachers unions have balked at the notion, though, saying Christie is unfairly trying to balance the state’s budget at their expense.”
Ah, but Huntress...does the above not take the cake for irony in this article?
Dig down far enough and you will find the Teachers Union organizing this.:”
“I think you are correct. I bet the teachers are behind this.”
The students wouldn’t have the slightest idea what is going on if the teachers hadn’t whined about it plenty in the classrooms.
