“In my opinion, Congress has no existence and can exercise no authority outside of the Constitution. Still less is it true that Congress can deal with new territories just as other nations have done or may do with their new territories. This nation is under the control of a written constitution, the supreme law of the land and the only source of the powers which our government, or any branch or officer of it, may exert at any time or at any place. Monarchical and despotic governments, unrestrained by written constitutions, may do with newly acquired territories what this government may not do consistently with our fundamental law. To say otherwise is to concede that Congress may, by action taken outside of the Constitution, engraft upon our republican institutions a colonial system such as exists under monarchical governments. Surely such a result was never contemplated by the fathers of the Constitution. If that instrument had contained a word suggesting the possibility of a result of that character it would never have been adopted by the people of the United States. The idea that this country may acquire territories anywhere upon the earth, by conquest or treaty, and hold them as mere colonies or provinces, the people inhabiting them to enjoy only such rights as Congress chooses to accord to them,is wholly inconsistent with the spirit and genius, as well as with the words, of the Constitution.” - Justice John Harlan, dissenting in the Insular Cases, 1901

There you are!
About 100 miles north of us was 13 inches of snow yesterday.
I think it’s time we give Michigan’s upper peninsula a shot at statehood. (If they push this PR thing through.)
Its been in the 30s here at night but tomorrow its only supposed to get down into the 50s overnight.
Fundamental Transformation of America could happen tomorrow......
Puerto Rico vote
HR 2499. Non-binding resolution
1) in big government, power and control.
(You don’t choose, except from options they present) Communism or Nazism.....cars, food, etc.
2) Democratic elections....Wilson or Roosevelt. (You are given choices). But we are a Republic.
3) SOcial Justice....Doling out largesse based on a ‘collective redemption’ based on gov’t, not Christianity. AKA Marxist redistribution of wealth.
Someone else pointed out that they want to have a PR referendum but they want everyone who was once a resident of Peurto Rico to have a vote even if they live any where else in America.
That’s like giving me a vote in Texas because I lived there for a few months in the 80s.
PR voted no to statehood. (They are a commonwealth, self-governing). PR has not be asked. “Puerto Rico Democracy Act” Who could be against this?
THIS IS A VOTE ABOUT FREEDOM?
WHAT THE HELL?
Some republicans holding us down while the democrats rape us.
PR resolution is....
...a vote about freedom
...gives PR folks a right to vote on whether they want to be a state or not.
There’s always a ‘trick’ to democratic elections. Health care was ‘debated’.
Progressive campaign all lined up, paid for & ready to roll once the resolution is passed.
Do when know which “republicans” are cosponsoring?
1) Do you want to maintain the same status (quo) of Puerto Rico? (Or, how about of the US?) This question differs from “do you want to be a state?”
What about those who want to be a state, to be independent, or to maintain as they are? Do they want to pay federal income taxes?
2) Second vote (3 choices) Statehood. Full independence. Modified commonwealth (last 2 choices traditionally have received less than 3% of PR vote).
“The Commercial Appeal: ‘Tennessee Plan’ Paved Way For State”
Elected delegates for COngress
Voted on Statehood
Drafted a State constitution
Applied for statehood
Went to Capitol & demanded to be seated
Congressmen who vote for this are “sheep being led to slaughter.”
Progressives will present a false choice to people.
This is what I can find:
Pedro Pierluisi D-PR
New Progressive Party 2008
“Adopts the Tennessee Plan as and additional strategy for de-colonization...for the admission of PR as the 51st state of the USA and this shall establish a process for the adoption and ratification of the consitution of the state of Puerto Rico and the election of two senators and six federal congresspersons....to claim their seats......”
Puerto Rico has already voted. But, if you stand against this, you will be labeled a racist.
Gee I wounder if he will have Whorealdo on today?
I remember back when Carter was prez the Dems tried this, and for a few months there was lots of talk in the lamestream media about whether PR would become the 51st state. The reason for it then was the same...the Marxists wanted two more Senators.
New Progressive party in PR was founded specifically for statehood & social justive (in their platform).
ugh! soooo busy at work this week I’m pullling out my hair! No Beck-time for me! Hell, I haven’t had lunch and it’s almost 5pm.
Thanks for posting Boots... always appreciated.
I’m digging and suspect I’ll find connections to the SEIU and probably worse.
Democrats plan on 1 party rule for the next 100 years:
1. Democrats want 12 Mn illegals (4 million votes?)
2. DC legislation (Only 1 extra vote in the House?)
3. Convited felons (4 Mn extra votes)
4. PR (4 million)
Makeup of House & Senate will be changed.
This is about....
Dilute the vote & the value of citizenship. Use ‘democratic’ elections. Social justice & redistribution of wealth.
David Barton up next:
I am against PR becoming a slave to the US. They’ve been getting some funding as of late. Just recently picked up money from US for development of Internet capabilities http://www.caribbeannetnews.com/news-22888—21-21—.html
Glenn has the only serious, informative program on television today, and his show needs to be aired in prime time.
Statehooders also believe that, while we are part of the U.S. economy and not able to vote for the President, and our lack of representation in congress, we are at a great disadvantage in obtaining our fair share of federal programs and funds. Under statehood, Puerto Rico would be entitled to two (2) Senators and six (6) Representatives.
Statehood will complete the full rights and benefits package of American Citizenship, now missing as an American Citizen from in Puerto Rico.
I got lost in a San Juan barrio at dusk once. That was interesting.
Road markers in San Juan were all overlain on one another. People were about as bad drivers as I have ever seen. Haven’t seen Naples, but I hear that’s about the worst.
Love offensive driving habits in parts of Europe though.
Hi CC, I feel like that on a daily basis. And I think at least 80% of the American ppl are oblivious while the pols are working at the speed of light to destroy our country.
They will wake up and wonder why our standard of living is less than Zimbabwe’s.
Nice pic above, though! :)
And, they’ll pay federal taxes. As would illegals, were they made citizens......No more free lunch.
I read your entire post. I am mad as all get out.
wonder why Beck speaks of the few Republicans not supporting
the AZ bill and lumping them as if most are.
Wonder why he doesn’t mention his good friend , sub,
and Ron Paul mouth peace, Judge Andrew Napolitano Arizonas new immigration law will bankrupt the state and has ranted on Judge Andrew Napolitano: Arizonas Immigration Law Is Unconstitutional
More Beck selective outrage
Progressives knew the last time (100 years ago) that their failure required that....
1) Religious and moral people of the US had to be destroyed.
2) a Separation and understanding of the Constitution had to be destroyed. 1920: case law replaced study of Constitution.
3) love & attachment to Founders had to be eradicated.
Founders Fridays will be on Beck now.......
Ilk in late. Snow forcast for tomorrow through Saturday. Glowbull Warming!
Its all the standard gimmie gimmie gimmie.
Looks like these progressives overwhelmingly consider themselves to be aligned with the GOP. Unfortunately they appear to be marxists.
The British blamed the preachers for the Revolution and proceeded to burn churches....
