City workers banned from official travel to Arizona (San Francisco)

San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom announced today a moratorium on official city travel to Arizona after the state enacted a controversial new immigration law that directs local police to arrest those suspected of being in the country illegally.

The ban on city employee travel to Arizona takes effect immediately, although there are some exceptions, including for law enforcement officials investigating a crime, officials said. It's unclear how many planned trips by city workers will be curtailed.

Fortunately, I’ve boycotted San Francisco since moving out of the city Thanksgiving 2007. Without even trying. I have ZERO desire to set foot among the rat vermin infesting that city. It is pretty and has great restaurants. I just can’t stomach the despicable brain-dead knee-jerk commie morons that infest the city.

The last straw for me was the November 2005 handgun ban voted in by a majority of SF voters. Such a pathetically brain-dead, tyrannical, historically ignorant electorate doesn’t deserve me for a neighbor, nor I them.

Freaking morons. Asinine imbiciles. They prove this continually.

I can’t find it on Google, but I clearly remember a San Francsico City Councilman calling for disbanding the US military.

No. Seriously. He wanted to completely disband the entire US military.

He was on “Hannity & Colmes” sometime before Colmes left.

Alan Colmes was grilling this village idiot and trying to give him any out to let him backtrack. He wasn’t having any.

Colmes asked, you don’t really mean eliminate the military altogether. Village idiot said he did.

Colmes almost melted down asking “how would you protect the US borders? Village idiot said he would use the police.

Colmes had a complete meltdown, asking with disbelief “you mean protect America from foreign invasion with the police?”

The Village idiot was adamant. He NEVER backed down. This freely elected San Francisco City councilman, elected to REPRESENT this kind of thinking, was so militantly anti-military, that he wanted to disband the Army, Navy, Air Force and Marines, and replace their function with civilian Police forces.

You can’t get any more stupid than San Francisco. You just can’t. OK, Berkeley, but it is a special case of lobotomy.

“Arizona health officials will report a drop in STD cases soon.”

And the drop in Lysol sales will hurt the local economy.

I was just in AZ over spring break. Darn glad I was there and dropped a few hundred bucks into their economy. Got a co-worker retiring in a couple of weeks. Going to get him a gift card to Cold-Stone Creamery — they’re HQ is in AZ.

If we had known this bill would cause the illegal aliens to leave and the San Francisans to refuse to come here, we would have passed this bill a long, long time ago.

Excellent point. Wonder if we can get Colorado to pass a similar bill and get similar results?

So are they saying that their state employees are all illegal immigrants?

I wonder if obama has the stones to set foot in AZ now???

A boycott of AZ will only hurt the businesses that employ the illegals, like the hotels and restaurants.

Did you hear the fool, the absolute fool Congressman from AZ promoting a boycott of AZ businesses? It was on the radio (you know, that evil talk radio) today. Talk about completely moronic -- promote a boycott to damage the businesses and livelihoods of the very people that elected you! I wonder if AZ can recall this guy for being clueless and obviously incompetent to serve in public office?

"Excellent, this Arizona law will force all their illegals to beautiful California. We will welcome our new amigos with free healthcare, food stamps, and rent assistance. Viva la California!"

I found this comment with the linked article to be hilarious but true in a wierd sort of way.

I don’t think they have to ban it, I think the people of AZ are up for a good old-fashioned voluntary boycott.

Perhaps everyone should cool down and read the US Constitution. Better yet, understand what it says. If anyone has trouble understanding what this means, I’m sure that there are many others who can explain it, in one syllable words.

Section 10 - Powers prohibited of States

No State shall enter into any Treaty, Alliance, or Confederation; grant Letters of Marque and Reprisal; coin Money; emit Bills of Credit; make any Thing but gold and silver Coin a Tender in Payment of Debts; pass any Bill of Attainder, ex post facto Law, or Law impairing the Obligation of Contracts, or grant any Title of Nobility.

Newsom should be charged under RICO laws....... for engaging in an organized conspiracy to undermine and interfere with Arizona's business and commerce.

Using public monies to commit RICO crimes increases Newsom's legal jeopardy.

Nothing like a hard nosed political and economic response to bring a city to,....well, I was going to say to it’s knees, but then many if not most people in SF are already on their knees for one reason or another.
