Canadians tend to lead longer, healthier lives than Americans on average, say researchers who point to lack of universal health care in the U.S. as one reason.
The study in Thursday's online issue in BioMed Central's journal Population Health Metrics was based on data from the 2002-03 Joint Canada/United States Survey of Health, which offered comparable data on the health of the population in both countries.
David Feeny, a dual Canadian/U.S. citizen and investigator at the Center for Health Research at Kaiser Permanente Northwest in Portland, Ore., and his U.S. colleagues calculated health-adjusted life expectancy, which takes into account not only mortality risk but also the health-related quality of life, such as being free of disability.

Within the Chinese group you find the Yakuts/Sakha ~ and the Yakuts are the source of the Eskimos and American Indians (First Nations folks).
Within that group, you also have several subgroups with very high percentages of Ice Age "white folk" ancestry (from pre-Sa'ami settlers who somehow crossed the Mid-Atlantic sea ice to America).
I think the only valid comparisons are between the same groups, not with the broad-brush (Canadians/Americans) dichotomy, or the not quite valid (Scandinavians/Canadian Scandinavians).
Actually, your argument is flawed. The difference is not based on any ‘evidentiary’ standard but on the definition of health.

Yes, it is comparing apples and oranges. The diversity of the US population dwarfs that of Canada.
The black population has a much higher death rate from violence than the white population; also high BP. I’m not sure about the Latino statistics, though. But, we certainly have a lot more of them than Canada does. Canada has mostly European and Asian, with only a smattering of other groups.

No, blacks are about 13 percent of the population of US. Asians about another 4 and the rest about another percent or so, which includes Native Americans.
Canada is now up to about 16-17 percent of ‘visible minorities’ which does not include hispanics.

These are all conditions that occur when you keep someone alive. If you allow them to die waiting for the ambulance, or appointment you will have fewer people with these sorts of problems.
The Canadian model of letting the sick die creates a healthier population. All that remains is for them to publish deceiving reports such as this to convince them that it is the wonders of the Canadian system that creates their good health.

2008 numbers, this has grown some since but as you can see,
white’s in the U.S. make up about 65% of the U.S. population. 35% of the U.S. is minorities, a much larger population % than Canada’s.

The study never said Canadians live longer. It said they are healthier while still alive.
If you allow the weak and infirm to expire while waiting for healthcare, that’s exactly the result you’d expect.

Actually, the main difference is demographic. Canada has fewer members of racial/ethnic groups that engage, in large numbers, in sociopathic behavior. Canada does not host millions of poorly educated, poorly nourished illegal immigrants who had little or no access to medical/dental care as children.
