“But other than raising kids, I can’t think of anything else which gives you an opportunity to work with God and help create something beautiful.”

Well said.

Gardening is the hands down favorite hobby of retirees across all lines of education, income and any other metric.

During the Vietnam War many a miscreant teen was given a choice by a judge, Army or jail?

Maybe we can now give them the choice, landscaping or jail? It certainly would keep many off the street and bring a reduction in crime.

We could also have it be a punishment for bullying and bullying in the schools would stop overnight.

Where do you live? I’ve never seen anyone other than the home owners or businesses mowing or doing yard work.

True. Where I grew up and in that time, there were no Mexicans. Poor people did the field work and the high school kids.We were glad for the money. Around here the best football player loads hay with his father and does ranch work

You really want a kid that should be in jail, all over your yard, underneath the windowsills and in your shed? Who is going to supervise them?

ICE arrested 300 at a company in CA and then there were Americans lined up to get those jobs.

I live where Circuit City went out of business. Where Capital One has had layoffs. Where Wachovia moved to St Louis while trimming jobs beforehand. Where Quimonda went belly up.

Ummm - you? or hire a neighborhood kid?

As a kid growing up in the 1960's I use to cut grass, trim hedges, clean out garages, pick up trash, etc. for pocket money in my neighborhood. I even knew how to rebuild lawn mowers. I would do just about anything for a little extra cash. I never did report income (hope IRS won't come after me). I also delivered papers (120 papers on my route) for several years.

Today the neighborhood kids (at least in my neighborhood) think they are too good to do this work. This is the work for immigrants (illegal & legal). The best thing that could happen is for us to give this work back over to our teenagers. It would be good for the country and would instill a work effort in our young. The only problem I see today is the legal aspect of the work. Today homeowners would probably be scared of a lawsuit that could ensue if a teenager was injured doing normal yard work. Lawyers always wreck everything.

They can be used for all of the landscaping jobs that are currently filled by overpayed SEIU workers in cities and towns across America. Fire the SEIU workers thereby saving the taxpayers a bundle and have the police who will certainly have some free time since crime will go down supervise them.

My Mexican American who has been my yard man for over a decade will still be there.

The same goes for our Mexican American lady who cleans our home.

Damned straight!
We should bring in more illegals and make them our slaves!
Why should we get all dirty and sweaty?

“I see these fellows burning the US flag, so I know darn well that they don’t really wan to live in America. Am I right??”

On Saturday we will all be treated to wall to wall coverage of the downtrodden immigrants from Mexico, at their rally’s, proudly waving the Mexican flag.

I find this funny, sickening and sad all at the SAME time. It’s SO very sad that these people show such loyalty to a place that gave them nothing.

I know, I know.... They were born there. And that makes it even SADDER. Mexico didn’t even give most of these people a decent education.

All the while, Calderon and the Mexican elites say to them...

“see ya, wouldn’t wanna be ya. keep going north. And by the way.... don’t forget to send your money back to us in Mexico. Because that’s what all of us parasites, that own everything, feed off of.........

It used to be that college kids spent their summer working farms to pay their next years tuition. Why is the government taking money from taxpayers for college grants and aid when these students could be earning it themselves?
