The website Media Matters is highlighting a comment from talk radio icon Rush Limbaugh in which he explains he can understand President Barack Obama's sensitivity to a state requirement for documentation of citizenship.
"Maybe he's afraid somebody's going to ask him for his," stated Limbaugh on his program Wednesday.
He was commenting on the president's use of the word "papers" as in "Show me your papers" regarding the new Arizona state law cracking down on illegal aliens in the state.
"The use of the word 'papers.' I mean Obama? Understandable," comments Limbaugh. "Papers equals Nazi. Your papers please. It equals Nazi. That's why Obama's using the term. I can understand Obama being touch on the subject of producing your papers."
"Maybe he's afraid somebody's going to ask him for his," Limbaugh said.

One of the things that the law says is that local officials are allow to ask somebody who they have a suspicion might be an illegal immigrant for their papers – but you can imagine if you are a Hispanic American in Arizona, your great, great grandparents may have been there before Arizona was even a state. But now suddenly if you don't have your papers and you took your kid out to get ice cream, you're going to be harassed, that's something that could potentially happen."

Methinks the Obama eligibility issue is beginning to gain momentum. Clarence Thomas has talked about it, Rush is talking about it, Arizona just passed a law about it and a few other states look like they’ll follow suit.

If I didn't know better, I would say that had a hint of sarcasm in it.
Apparently one of the side effects of suffering from the mental illness know as "Progresivism" is that it destroys any trace of a sense of humor.
Just gettin’ his line in about it before it becomes a big issue worldwide so he can go back to the tape in 18 months and say he knew now.
Rush had a joke he repeated several times. Here’s a quote from June 10, 2009:
“RUSH: What do Obama and God have in common? Neither has a birth certificate. How do they differ? God does not think he’s Obama.”
This is roughly similar. A brief joke, told in a sentence or two, and dismissable as, well, a joke.
It seems evident that Rush does not want to get into this issue at any length, even to describe what other people are saying about it, much less what he thinks about it.
But he has touched on it gingerly with these occasional brief jokes.

Rush might not be sure which way to go on air about this issue. The jokes might indicate where his sympathies lie, though.

Barry O. tried to pass of something that was inconsistent with what the rest of have and know to be a “Birth Certificate”.
The so called COLB has many flaws with it:

He seemed to have some emotional attachment to the Birth Certificate found among his mother’s belongings. Why wouldn’t he just slap that one up, for all the world to see? It seemed important that he found a document that is called a “Birth Certificate” and it is highly unlikely he would not know what one looks like.
Hope no one brings up some house fire that vaporized his BC. That was in 1972 and none of the documents listed here would have been affected by that “fishy” event.

It's not a radio-friendly issue. It's one thing to see evidence of forgery, but on the radio, he'd have to describe it. The other aspects of the issue are complex and/or lengthy. The grandmother saying he was born in Kenya; the Mombasa birth certificate; the news stories that said Obama was Kenyan-born; the unresolved questons about whether Obama was adopted by Lolo Soetoro and is legally named Barry Soetoro; the stonewalling by the Department of Health in Hawaii despite having legal ways to confirm the legimacy of Obama's alleged COLB; Vattel, Blackstone, Wong Kim Ark, Minor v. Happersett and how to define natural born citizen; Obama father being a British subject/Kenyan citizen and how that naturally descended to Obama .... there's just too much involved to get to the point quickly and succinctly. And it's not really a good TV issue either, for the same reasons.

People are converting daily. It’s coalescing and getting larger.
He, also, lied on his resume. He wasn’t a professor but, merely, an instructor. And not a very well-liked one at that - he was considered lazy, was a no-show at meetings. Just another one of his ‘over his pay-grade’ moments.
