Earlier today Team Obama called in the riot squad to deal with the Quincy Tea Party patriots outside the the Oakley-Lindsey/Quincy Community Center. Team Obama ordered the riot police to march in and contain the violent tea party protesters.

Actually being fair to Obama rooftop security goes whereever the President goes. I saw them in Saint Paul for the Repub convention they are the standard as far as the Secret Service detail.

To be quite honest I rather expect the security measures were probably requested by the Secret Service and the big O didn’t have a thing to do with it. I dislike the man as much as anyone, but let’s not get stupid here.

I never said anything about Obama calling these goons out. These people are trouble and they are 'goons'. They are too eager, too authoritarian and too well prepared for what they were dealing with. If they want real danger and confrontation I say join the friggin Army or Marines and deal with some real terrorists.

The Tea Partiers were told to stay on the sidewalks while the riot squad marched in formation down the street and took their positions, in the street. Their tactic is to make a rigid demand of the protesters and, when one of them, does not comply with the demand, that becomes the pretext to move the entire group out. I can see a strategy here. If there were plants in the group, it would be easy for a few to them to step out into the street; causing a crackdown on the whole group.

Actually they were there for McCain cuz as I remember Bush spoke by satelite to the convention. It is simply standard Secret Service detail stuff. However the detail in Quincy was hilarious to the max though.

I spoke with the snipers and its SOP for them to travel with any President.

But, folks please quit freaking out. The Secret Service uses a whole layered defense system that includes local cops, their own assets, and sometimes the military. That includes sniper/counter sniper teams.

The Secret Service's job is to protect the POTUS, regardless of how big a tool he may be.

I was living in Colorado Springs when President Bush (geez, I miss that man) spoke at the Air Force Academy. The USAFA SPs had armored vehicles as part of their assets INSIDE the USAFA. Security was unbelievable and this was in one of the most friendly venues and towns President Bush could have possibly been in.

Let's not start seeing a boogey man where none exists.
