We are at a remarkable moment. We have an open, 2,000-mile border to our south, and the entity with the power to enforce the law and impose safety and order will not do it. Wall Street collapsed, taking Main Street's money with it, and the government can't really figure out what to do about it because the government itself was deeply implicated in the crash, and both political parties are full of people whose political careers have been made possible by Wall Street contributions. Meanwhile we pass huge laws, bills so comprehensive, omnibus and transformative that no one knows what's in them and no oneliterally, no oneknows how exactly they will be executed or interpreted. Citizens search for new laws online, pore over them at night, and come away knowing no more than they did before they typed "dot-gov."

Oh look, The Obama licker has a column in the pro-open border paper.
That's right. Keep everyone thinking it's about voting when it's really about drugs. Drug money is keeping the borders undefended. Drug money is the taboo subject the media ignores. Wonder why.
Gee, Peggy, does Obama still give you a warm feeling? Aren’t you glad you endorsed him before the election?
She’s right on somethings and wrong on others.
Noonan is the left’s favorite “conservative” for a reason....
Agreed, but not mutually exclusive. Illegal immigration gives a lot of powerful people:
b) Drug money;
c) cheap labor and contributions from businesses that want cheap labor.
Not so much what as when. She and a number of “conservative” pundits gushed warmly for Obama in the fall of 2008. That—and that idiot McCain’s virtual endorsement of Obama—may have been enough to put him over the top. A lot of people endorsed their warm feelings instead of looking at what he stood for.
It all about pissing off the Hispanics. Where will the GOP be if its pisses off the angry white man?
I think it’s fairly complicated, but yes. There are hundreds of billions in drug money floating around, and it goes where it needs to.
Bill clinton grew up in Hot Springs among the Dixie Mafia, and was involved in the drug cartels at an early age. Then while he was governor, he was involved in the Mena Airport smuggling operation. He met openly with major drug figures in the White House, and I’m pretty sure he was getting a cut from the cartels. In turn, he would try to ensure that the DEA went after the little guys, and thereby eliminated competition for the cartels.
Did Bush get paid directly? His father was involved in the Mena operation as V.P., but I think did it mostly for patriotic reasons, to help the Contras after the Dems cut off funding. Of course, you can do it for good reasons, yet it still tends to corrupt.
I’m pretty sure Obama is getting a cut, and presumably also the Chicago mob, which is giving him his directions on such matters.
And they also pay off law enforcement, selected people in the FBI, police, border patrol, and so forth. Not everyone is corrupt, but there’s a lot of money, and at least some people willing to take it.
But there’s not much doubt that money flows to the top as well.
It already has.
I can hardly bear thinking about that much evil. I have to go out and work in my garden.
Only partly. It's partly about drug money, partly about wage-breaking by employers, and partly about, yup, votes.
It's deeply cynical. Except for the drug dimension, it also represents the status quo ante before the 1925 immigration reforms. Lyndon Johnson kicked that apart -- for votes.
Once, he had done it for cheap ag labor for his Texas-millionaire buddies, back in the 1950's when he tried to hornswoggle President Eisenhower and hold the gates open, but when he did it in 1965, he was President, and he did it because he knew he'd become Scalawag-in-Chief by signing the 1965 Civil Rights Bill that made white people in 11 Southern States second-class citizens -- no, wait, third-class (second-class was what everyone else became), by stripping them of the power to hold elections under their own authority, and instead forcing them to seek a pass from the Justice Department -- making them lickspittles of LBJ Justice, which they disliked.
At least he didn't bring up paedophilia sex-slavery rings ..... and closeted homosexuals conspiring in the corridors of power .... and the Bilderberg and Bohemian Club swells ...... it goes on, and on, and on.
