Yes, I’ve been there. I was so busy with my career when I lived in LA that I never had time to stop and smell the oil so to speak. Never connected it with the off shore oil.

Heard one on Fox News. It was very technical, and I did not understand it all. The expert said that someone was not paying enough attention to the gauges.

Once the equipment on the bottom is secured, certain tools are withdrawn, and there is an automatic shutoff valve. The shutoff valve can’t work at present, because it is blocked by something.

After the man-made global warming scandal, why am I surprised? It pi$$es me off that the media, the schools and the lefty politicians have caused so much misunderstanding. I really wish someone - say at the Wall Street Journal - would write about this.

Hey, you lurking Wall Street Journal reporters: we know you're reading this.

Write a story about this.

And on the Eighth Day, the Lord Obama spoke of the disaster.

Just imagine if President Bush waited over a week to mention a disaster like this. He spoke up a week BEFORE Katrina, warning the State of LA to prepare and what kind of treatment did he get?

It's not the News Reports, it's who Reports the News...

And the governator could get the state out of financial hot water and tell Obama to go screw himself. Hollywood would love it!/

FYI...

Michael Savage had a long interview with a clearly very knowledgable drilling engineer tonight who worked at Halliburton for 35 years. He said he did not see any way this could have been an accident. He explained why in great depth, using explanatons of how they used concrete and mud and gas, and what would have occured if there was a fissure or crack which occured (mud and liquid would have shot up is massive quanitity, causing a huge problem before anything could ignite). Instead he said there was a sudden, huge explosion, and the Chef's statement backs that up, since he said there were absolutely no problems before the out-of-the-blue explosion.

Savage also talked about the recent sinking of the South Korean vessel, and about how North Korea has been building a large fleet of suicide subs. Very interesting show.

I remember this.

Santa Barbara Oil Spill

On January 28th, 1969, one of Union Oil's offshore platforms experienced a blowout that caused around 4 million gallons of oil to contaminate over 40 miles of southern California coastline in the course of 8 days. Dead seals and dolphins washed ashore in the aftermath, and thousands of birds died from being soaked in oil.

On the general subject, the La Brea Tar Pits didn’t happen because there wasn’t a ton of hydrocarbons bubbling to the surface in the general area.

My understanding, limited as it is, the blowout was the result of the fire. I had not heard the interview. Thanks!
