(CNN) -- I am white. I know that's a terribly big surprise, considering that I write a blog called Stuff White People Like, but I mean it, I'm white. Like really white. I'm not attempting to assert some sort of superiority through my whiteness; quite the opposite actually. Thanks to my liberal upbringing, I am imbued with the appropriate amount of guilt and shame about my ancestors and their actions in the New World.

Have you noticed how Irish Americans are now the embodiment of the intolerant, bigoted white in popular culture, a part formerly played by the WASP? Maybe I’m imagining it. It seems to pop up in story lines every now and then: the evil oppressor is a third-generation Irish Catholic.

The whole “give blankets to the Indians that were tainted with smallpox” was disproved, I had read.
Of course, the Indians used to biologically sabotage their ancient enemies by tossing rotted corpses into their enemies water supplies, etc.
And when you read, like I recently did, about the “Trail of Tears” where the Indians were forcibly relocated. There was a reference to many blacks who were also in the group. My understanding is that they were there as the Indian’s slaves. See, the red man did some slaveowning himself.
When that dude gets old he will look something like me. If he keeps working out that is. Of course at his age I was MUCH better looking.

The scariest thing is the minority tribes in Africa seem to always rule over the majority tribes; and they do so with ruthless disregard for human life. They seem to not be capable of understanding what the words "Liberty" and "humanity" mean.

I’m a white devil and proud of it, too! I even have pride in western civilization that was built mainly by white men. Every day I enjoy the technology they created for us.
Does that mean I think other races are less? In no way! But it does mean I’m not on some guilt trip over what my ancestors produced, because they did a pretty good job of it compared to most other cultures in the world.
He’s an idiot. Why apologize for being White? It is not like he had anything to do with it - it is an accident of birth just like it is for everyone. People act like America being predominately White is a terrible thing and that somehow “Browning” of the country is going to provide some kind of righteousness that White people are lacking.
If his beliefs were correct and skin color really did confer spiritual superiority, people would be racing to Africa to join with the Blackest of the Black, desperately begging for entry into the most righteous areas of all, sub-Saharan Africa. I don’t see that happening, do you?
It is a manipulation tool designed by communists to tear apart this country and destroy America. This group of people has been manipulating the education of our young people for the past 40 years. It needs to stop.
Yes, yes, slavery was bad. Yes, yes, it’s terrible that there are poor people. Yes, yes, blah, blah, blah... It really breaks down to a huge pile of bullshit created by people who hate Whites.
They do everything they can to try to make Whites feel guilty about things that happened in the distant past as if that somehow justifies their self-hatred. They hate themselves and so they want you to hate yourself. They want you to feel guilty about their circumstances in life.
They even go so far as to say that you will not be free of the guilt of your ancestors until THEY decide you are free of it - all the while promoting the theory that the world will be a much better place if they can just manage to kill all the White people.

I know and I hate that the Irish are treated this way. One of the little publicized stories of the Civil War is about how Irish immigrants were met at the docks and forced into the Union army at gunpoint. They were forced to fight for their own freedom and many died on Civil War Battlefields. That’s not a story you’ll hear, and no one outside their own communities really wants to talk about the number of Irish-Americans who gave their lives on 9/11 - no one wants to talk about their heroism. It is a shame.
He was brought up with the “’appropriate’ amount of guilt and shame”? I was brought up with the “do unto others...” model. There was no liberal-conservative, black-white-red-yellow talk but there was right and wrong talk. And if you did wrong, well, there was a price to pay and it didn’t involve talk.
I’m sure glad I was brought up the way I was instead of how this he-she was. I’m grateful my father didn’t infect me with the oppressor-victim, bad guy-good guy paradigm. He taught me to respect people and judge individuals based on the way they act. I can’t imagine walking around feeling guilty for what some people did a hundred or hundreds of years before I was born. So sad, so pathetic.
That whole smallpox on the blankets thing is a myth, for cryin’ out loud!
