If we are gonna have more government, I would rather have them watching porn than what they might otherwise be doing.
Mining is one of the most heavily regulated industries in the US. And VERY heavy UNION controlled. Maybe if the gov’t workers weren’t surfing PORN sites they might have been doing their jobs.
and yet there is absolutely no outrage from half the country. It’s either fear or desperate loyalty. Maybe both.
If the Zer0 had used the word “risk” instead of “danger”, I might agree with that phrase (though the larger context might be a different matter. A nation with a small government does bear an element of risk, as our founders so rightly pointed out; the risk of personal failure. Without the government to get in the way, to add safety nets and bailouts, people have to shoulder all the risk of investment, labor, and living, all themselves. Unfortunately, all too many Americans have been coddled by the spectacular prosperity of our nation over the last 50 years, and have forgotten that such risk is largely beneficial. They prefer the easy way, where life is full of do-overs, mulligans, and second chances. To them, the possibility of really failing, and having to start over all on their own, is frightening, and therefore when Zer0 talks about the risk of “too little government” they, having been conditioned to think that Wall Street excess, housing bubbles, and private healthcare shortfalls are the result of too little government control, not the result of too much, they immediately conjure images of those things.
The rot he created is all around, yet, DumBO cannot smell the stench.
