President Barack Obama took shots at his poll drops, birthers, death panels, and Arizona's new immigration law on Saturday night.
Obama opened for comedian Jay Leno at the White House Correspondents' Dinner, noting that Leno was the "only person whose ratings fell more than mine.
"I'm also glad I'm speaking first, because we've all seen what happens when someone takes the time slot after Leno," Obama said in reference to the Conan O'Brien "Tonight Show" fiasco.
But, the president joked, "I know my approval ratings are still very high in the country of my birth."
Leno prodded back at Obama when it was his turn at bat. First up: the controversy over Obama's plans with the space program.
"We can point to one achievement during his administration," Leno said. "We did get one astronaut on 'Dancing on the Stars.'"
"He loves to socialize," Leno added of the president. "Healthcare. Car companies."
"And we all know what happens in Arizona when you don't have ID," Obama said, taking a shot at the controversial law that has sparked protests -- and calls on Capitol Hill to move on immigration reform. "Adios amigos!"
But instead, the president focused on the domestic priority that he spent much of his term thus far getting pushed through.
"There aren't a few secret provisions in the healthcare plan," Obama said. "There are, like, hundreds."

"You know what really tickles me?" Obama said. "Eric Massa."
Obama addressed Massa's charge that chief of staff Rahm Emanuel confronted him naked and screaming obscenities in the congressional showers.
"To which I say, welcome to my world," Obama said.
Shouldn’t he be in Louisiana?
He wasn’t smiling when he said thathe looked angry!
This article spelled out the f word, I stared it.
The White House Correspondents' Association Dinner was tonight, your only chance to catch Justin Bieber and Tim Geithner in the same room. You weren't invited; neither were we. What did we miss? Jokes!
Obama's speech cut a wide and withering swathe through the political and cultural landscape: Zinging Jay Leno, Scott Brown, Sarah Palin, Politico, Fox, CNN, the Jonas Brothers, the GOP, Eric Massa and a lot of other stuff!
He opened with a nod to Biden's infamous "big f*****g deal" gaffe:
Did he actually say "f*****g" or what? It is unclear but this is a matter of national importance?
Naw, he sent SWAT
After he relieved them of duty intimidating little ole ladies singing "God Bless America"
Ha-Ha-Ha. What a joker.
Why so sociialist?
Nice that he has time for golf and celebrity dinners, while illegals shoot policemen with AK47s.
Meanwhile Brownie Shirtie Naploitano is doin a heckuva job down there in Louisiana.
He is not funny, I found all of those so called jokes quite disturbing. He sucks.
>>> “I know my approval ratings are still very high in the country of my birth.”
Well, not really. He's got to wait till the oil gets thick enough and develops an asphaltic crust so's he can walk out on the gulf waters and lower their ambient level to one lower than the other oceans!!!
Then he'll just walk over and close the danged valve!!!
What are you thinking to ask such an insolent question of the dark force???
Kenya? (see tagline)
Obama is a stain and shame on the President’s office.
DC Knows that Obama is Ineligible for Office
Yeah, Yuk Yuk Yuk Hussein.
Coal mine blows up, multiple deaths
Drilling rig blows up and sinks, multiple deaths
Epic oil slick washing ashore gulf ecosystem
Second drilling rig sinks
Boston water supply catastrophic rupture
Car bomb suspected in Times Square
Yuk Yuk Yuk you Kenyan impostor. Go take a shower with Rahm.
So why are you sending the military to the BP Macondo blowout? Are they going to shoot it with torpedos? Or is there a military threat to US oil production??
Isn’t it funny how President Bush never did any of this crap? Did he appear on any late night television shows during either election or during his eight years in office?
What would have happened if he had appeared? Can you imagine the outcry from the eneMedia?
He ended his comments on Massa/Ballet dancer by saying something inappropriate like “I feel it”.
He wasn’t funny tonight but rather came across as condescending and halting in his supreme arrogance,.
Seemed like Leno wanted to bail in the middle of his ill received comments..
As one Freeper so wisely said it, “Obama is amused by us Americans”..
HE is in fact a disgrace to our nation.
With this performance tonight, my guess is that once he is out of office, he will proudly state that his wife was correct in talking about his homeland of Kenyan.
Furthermore, I would be unsurprised if he then (or later) freely admits that he is actually an illegal alien because his mother never bothered to have him properly registered.
President Bush did attend the White House Correspondence Dinners and he was quite funny as I recall.
He is soo Presidential. . . Over 900 days left. . . How will we survive?
I don’t see any jokes in that, just truths.
If I’m not mistaken, that’s pretty much mandatory for Presidents. I’m talking about the talk show circuit.
Funny as cancer.
Gotta admit, this stuff is actually funny. I’m surprised that Zero has the courage to mock himself like that.
Your chain? ...it just got yanked.
Let's get the FReepathon over!
Go to the FReepathon thread and give it a bump if you've already donated.
Adopt a Liberal if you'd like to do something more.
Good Lord. Would everybody just calm the heck down?
ALL modern presidents have participated in these "roasts". It's gotten to be something of a tradition now, and they all crack mocking jokes on themselves.
That includes GWB. I can recall laughing my ass off at some of the jokes Dubya told on himself.
I understand it really bombed.
It was tasteless and gave the Libtards all the ammo they could ever want. I felt embarrassed watching it at the time.
The Clinton Video where he packs Hillary's brown bag lunch as she leaves for the Senate was actually pretty funny. When Don Imus grilled Clinton at the Dinner, I thought he was way out of line. But then, I never really cared for Imus either.
I don't begrudge the Boy King his stand up routine, but I didn't watch it by choice. I can't stand the sight of the guy because I know what a total fraud he really is. He puts the F in Phony...
Ha. Ha. Ha. Barf.
I looked and couldn't find it, then gave up and stumbled across it Here
"Intervened" yea right.
Although his poll numbers are down, Obama said he hears he's popular on Twitter and Facebook. "Or as Sarah Palin call it, socialized media," he said.
Leno picked up on this joke to take a dig at Obama, saying the president isn't as aloof as some critics say he is. "He loves to socialize - health care, car companies," Leno said, naming a few industries in which the Obama administration has intervened.
Funny that they can admit it with jokes, but call them Socialists and they throw a fit
Agreed. I can sit here on FR and read about Bozo's comic routine, but I could never sit still to watch it. I simply cannot watch or listen to him, knowing the evil that he truly is.
Difference is Obama uses it to put others down. He rarely if ever mocks himself.
That's true, but tonight he made himself the butt of his jokes.
We know that he was just telling jokes that his script-writers wrote, but they came off really funny, because there's so much truth at the core of them.
Believe me, I know that Obama himself is no joking matter.
I’ve watched it in the past and will probably watch the reruns. He is LOUSY and has no sense of humor. His timing is off and his delivery is awful (at least during the last one I saw).
One thing I've noticed in this life, is that people who possess true greatness all have the ability to make others laugh.
It's not surprising to me that Zero's comic timing and delivery is bad. He's does not possess true greatness. Not even close.
You are right. The laugh-at-everything-tragic-in-America usurper-in-chief is a kenyan clown.
This is the most despicable POS I have ever seen.
Obama managed to out himself on his birthplace, socialism, healthcare, death panels, socialism and immigration.
I didn’t watch any of Obama’s remarks, but seeing them here in print, they are not funny. Like you pointed out, he seems to be outing himself on all the issues you noted, but he is telling America: So What. I’m President and I can do what I want to this country. Sounds like he is rubbing it in our face.
“That’s true, but tonight he made himself the butt of his jokes.”
The weekend Fox News crew evidently thought he was funny too, but it sounds more like he was rubbing his views in our face, not making himself the butt of jokes.
Why joke at the birth certificate issue? Why not just show it? It’s a taunt. I can do and say whatever I want and nobody can stop me.
The other issues are deadly serious and I just don’t see any humor in his statements.
Bwwahahahaha. The venom hits the chosen one. The one who will stop the rise of the oceans, save the planet, leap tall buildings in a single bound.
GWB appeared at the Correspondents’ Dinner every one of his eight years in office.
We don’t have to imagine the MSM’s response - the evidence is all still available online. Don’t you remember the outcry when he showed this video about looking for “weapons of mass destruction”?
there is nothuing funny about a little black turd
Did he actually say that!!??
