Republicans in Utah direct anger at former party favorite Bennett
Washington Post ^ | May 1, 2010 | Amy Gardner

Delivering the opening prayer of the Beaver County Republican Convention recently, cattle rancher Gilbert Yardley prayed for Utah to elect "honest" people to Congress -- anybody to replace "the bunch we have in there now."

Sen. Robert F. Bennett was in the room, hoping to persuade state delegates to nominate him at the May 8 GOP convention. A friend seated next to Bennett leaned in to whisper the obvious: "I don't think he's one of yours."

It's no surprise that anger at Washington and Congress is coursing through Republican circles, much of it driven by "tea party" activists. What took party leaders by surprise is that the anger here is directed not at President Obama, but squarely at Bennett. With a flurry of state primaries scheduled in the coming weeks, defeating Bennett could become a rallying point for anti-incumbent fervor elsewhere.

Hussein and Pelosi (and Reid, I would add) are MUCH more dangerous to this Republic than nearly any RINO around.

I beg to differ.

The reason that RINOs are so dangerous is because they feign America First conservatism yet actually practice progressivism (or yield to progressives in order to secure for themselves some of the loot) when conservatives aren't looking and actively paying attention.

Most of the DC class hasnt a clue as to how angry the American people are. The conservative base has been telling the slime of the RNC/GOP for years to pay attention..,.but NOPE!

Hopefully we can throw this vile out soon. McCain, McConnel, Burr, Bennett, Hatch, Cornyn and all the rest.

A friend of mine in Utah wrote to Bennett to express his dismay at how poorly Obama’s eligibility had been vetted. I had the opportunity to read Bennett's written response.

1) Bennett said the birth certificate had been verified by FactCheck and was posted on the Internet.

2) Bennett claimed that there were two birth announcements on the Internet, too!

3) He also said that Dr. Fukino ( a **physician** and great constitutional scholar) had declared that Obama was born in Hawaii. I suppose according to records, (note the plural on “records”, )that Obama himself amended.

4)Obama’s mom was a citizen and that was good enough for Bennett, (regardless of where Obama was born, I suppose.)

5)Bennett also claimed that he was committed to his oath to up hold our Constitution. ( That took about 2 dense paragraphs of blather.)

Then when my friend called his office, the secretary literally yelled at my friend, repeating over and over again that Obama was a natural born citizen, and absolutely would not give my friend any opportunity to even speak.

Great guy, that Bennett. ( sarc)

Hatch

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Another slicker than snot Senator.

That eulogy he gave at Kennedy’s funeral was just too much! As the expression goes, “You know a man by his friends!” So?...What kind of man would have Kennedy as a friend?

true Palin did campaign for Chambliss in the runoiff elections. He damn near lost in the general elections but was saved by Palin. He used to be on TV a lot whining about several things but according to his own words “has learned his lesson” and no seems to be towing the line.

Our senator actually PASSED on the vote till it was over then cast his vote. lil dickie burr is a vile little man. Even the RINO Elizabeth Dole took a stand and voted against amnesty.

Bennett & Crist better exchange recipes & garden layouts.
They are both going to have time on their hands.

I agree. At a wedding yesterday in Atlanta, I enjoyed chatting with two visitors from DC. One is a departmental bureaucrat, and the other is a House committee staffer. Both thought they knew what was going on out in the "real" America -- but both were stunned to see first hand the depth of contempt that regular Americans hold for the National Socialists. Both of them are Conservatives, but DC is an echo chamber where even its isolated patriots hear only what passes through the institutional filters.

They have no idea what is coming their way in November.

I agree with you’re points about them being DANGEROUS. Believe me.

Where you haven’t demonstrated an answer to my question is HOW they’re more dangerous than Hussein and his overt party fellators. Look, they’ve passed the most dangerous legislation in decades without a SINGLE Republican vote: RINO or no RINO.

Such actions, I deem, make them MORE dangerous than the useful idiots with Rs next to their name.

In order to survive as a free nation, we are going to have to undo everything Obama has done, and continues to do. RINOS will not do this. They will go along ,but never stick their neck out to fix anything. If we don’t clean house in the GOP, we will still die, albeit more slowly. RINOS are a cancer that must be iradicated.

His record isn’t conservative enough. He supported the bailouts and Bush’s shamnesty proposal. I think he’s a big porker too.

And he’s been there too long.
