N. Korean train believed to be carrying leader Kim arrives in China: official
SEOUL, May 3 (Yonhap) -- A North Korean train, believed to be a special armored train for the country's leader Kim Jong-il, arrived in the Chinese border city of Dandong early Monday, an informed official in Seoul said.
"We have confirmed the arrival of a special train at Dandong, and we believe it is highly likely that Chairman Kim is on board," the official said, referring to the North Korean leader by his official title as the head of the National Defense Commission.
The government is trying to confirm details, the official added.
The train arrived in Dandong around 5:30 a.m. (local time) Monday, one day after diplomatic sources here and in the Chinese city said Kim may be set for a trip to China in the very near future.
Some 200 Chinese police officers tightly surrounded the train station in Dandong, and the entire road in front of the station was blocked off to traffic from around 6 a.m.
Kim has visited China four times since 2000, by train only. He is said to be afraid of flying.
getting away from south korea and oil rig louisiana.
Yup I ping you Tiger on other article he is in China according to Twitter news
Too bad he’s not in a pine box.
He’s there to see some doctors. To get a checkup from the neck up. He’s paranoid of his own doctors poisoning him.
It would be, you know.... a damn shame if the train...well, ....dove off the tracks suddenly into a .....RAVINE...on its way back from Bejing killing ALL ABOARD!!!
Dead men tell no tales.
I’m sure he didn’t go there just to plan the final assault against Korea. /sarc
time for a vacation in the safety of China?
and/or more medical treatment
Hey Tiger UK Telegraph pick up the story
Hmmmm. A train from where, exactly? From what a friend told me and seeing vids......entering China from the ‘outside’ required a change of train wheels to meet the track specs.
If the loon launched an attack on S. Korea, more than half of his troops would desert just to get a good meal. N. Korea is an economic basket case on the verge of collapse. Good riddance.
Hey, when you’ve got a craving for Chinese food . . .
The sad part of the story is that China still props up Dear Leader Chairman Kim despite the fact he and his father have turned all of N. Korea into a sad gulag with only the guards fed enough calories to survive on. The other money went to the army and the A-bomb project. Plus, Red China still sends back to N. Korea any N. Koreans who try to bug out and get into China. They are returned to certain death.
Meanwhile, isn’t the Shanghai Expo just stunning and sweet? Almost as fantastic as the China Olympics. </s>
The Chinese and Russians keep N.Korea propped up because it is a buffer zone.
N. Korean leaders’ codename is ‘Shorty’.
Thank you for the pings.
:’) The mighty leader is in China right now, probably arranging for a rice delivery.
Maybe the chia pet went to pick up a trainload of cognac. They say he goes through a lot of the stuff.
