New 'safety plan' would control what you eat

Critics say a bill pending in the U.S. Senate would do for Americans' food supply what "Obamacare" is doing to the nation's supply of health-care resources.

And it's generating a surge of alarm among small-farm operators and natural food advocates.

"S. 510, the Food Safety Modernization Act of 2010, may be the most dangerous bill in the history of the U.S.," writes Steve Green on the Food Freedom blog. "It is to our food what the bailout was to our economy, only we can live without money."

The plan is sponsored by U.S. Rep. John Dingell, D-Mich. ...

...Shiv Chopra, a Canada Health whistleblower, who concluded S. 510 "would preclude the public's right to grow, own, trade, transport, share, feed and eat each and every food that nature makes."

It also sets up a suspension of registration for any "food facility" breaking any Health and Human Services rule, creates an annual fee for registration

There it is. It's all about more $$$ for the government.

Ever notice how much of the legislation written by the left seems to benefit the “small guy” on the surface, but in practice it end up helping the “big corporate types”.

Socialism is all about rationing.

Energy is going to be rationed through cap & tax, no drilling, no nukes, no coal.

Education is being rationed through direct government controls over student loans and government union control of most K-12 education systems.

Health care is being rationed through 0bamacare.

Housing will be rationed through the various “green” initiatives that keep you from selling your house without taking a bath.

Income and access to finance is being rationed through control over Wall Street and will be further enhanced by 0bama’s “financial reform.”

Now food is going to be rationed.

Don’t forget:

“We can’t have 5% of the world’s resources and keep using 25% of the world’s resources and expect the rest of the world to say that’s OK.”

You all can figure out exactly what that means.

You can’t turn your back on these morons for one minute without some other $hit pending that will affect our way of life. We need to get all these bums out of office. I have never had so much disgust for government officials in my entire life. Greedy, power hungry scum!

Some of us figured out the direction NObama wanted to take this country the first time we heard that statement.

Some of the Liberals won’t admit yet that the whole country is in trouble.

The day that someone arrives at my home to tell me that I can’t have a garden is the day I go postal with great prejudice.

Is this the bill that also includes supplements and vitamins?

The RATS have made that bill an amendment to the bank control bill currently under discussion. If it passes, the shelves of supplements will disappear. No GNC. No Vitamin Shop. Coupled with control of your food, you will be set up to get sick and die. Treatment with Obamacare will hasten death. The standard commie script.

NO kidding!!

Even slaves had their OWN gardens.

This whole ball of “reforms” is to enslave us all to government control, for THEIR GREEDY BENEFIT!

As someone who is trying to use alternative medicine, this really pisses me off. Now I won’t be able to use this or modern medicine, thanks to obamacare!

The future ‘speakeasy’ will serve T-bone steak, deep fried okra/mashed potatoes drowning in butter, and 1,500 calorie per slice cheesecake.

Capitalism survives because of demand and the suppliers will just go underground.
