New 'safety plan' would control what you eat
WorldNet Daily.com ^ | May 01, 2010 | Bob Unruh

Critics say a bill pending in the U.S. Senate would do for Americans' food supply what "Obamacare" is doing to the nation's supply of health-care resources.

And it's generating a surge of alarm among small-farm operators and natural food advocates.

"S. 510, the Food Safety Modernization Act of 2010, may be the most dangerous bill in the history of the U.S.," writes Steve Green on the Food Freedom blog. "It is to our food what the bailout was to our economy, only we can live without money."

The plan is sponsored by U.S. Rep. John Dingell, D-Mich. ...

...Shiv Chopra, a Canada Health whistleblower, who concluded S. 510 "would preclude the public's right to grow, own, trade, transport, share, feed and eat each and every food that nature makes."

It also sets up a suspension of registration for any "food facility" breaking any Health and Human Services rule, creates an annual fee for registration

There it is. It's all about more $$$ for the government.

Socialism is all about rationing.

Energy is going to be rationed through cap & tax, no drilling, no nukes, no coal.

Education is being rationed through direct government controls over student loans and government union control of most K-12 education systems.

Health care is being rationed through 0bamacare.

Housing will be rationed through the various “green” initiatives that keep you from selling your house without taking a bath.

Income and access to finance is being rationed through control over Wall Street and will be further enhanced by 0bama’s “financial reform.”

Now food is going to be rationed.

Don’t forget:

“We can’t have 5% of the world’s resources and keep using 25% of the world’s resources and expect the rest of the world to say that’s OK.”

You all can figure out exactly what that means.

Some of us figured out the direction NObama wanted to take this country the first time we heard that statement.

Some of the Liberals won’t admit yet that the whole country is in trouble.

Is this the bill that also includes supplements and vitamins?

The RATS have made that bill an amendment to the bank control bill currently under discussion. If it passes, the shelves of supplements will disappear. No GNC. No Vitamin Shop. Coupled with control of your food, you will be set up to get sick and die. Treatment with Obamacare will hasten death. The standard commie script.

The future ‘speakeasy’ will serve T-bone steak, deep fried okra/mashed potatoes drowning in butter, and 1,500 calorie per slice cheesecake.

Capitalism survives because of demand and the suppliers will just go underground.

Backyard gardens could vanish if that became law.

Indeed. Justice Thomas essentially made that point in the medical marijuana case:

If the majority is to be taken seriously, the Federal Government may now regulate quilting bees, clothes drives, and potluck suppers throughout the 50 States. This makes a mockery of Madison's assurance to the people of New York that the "powers delegated" to the Federal Government are "few and defined," while those of the States are "numerous and indefinite."

J. Thomas, dissenting in Raich, 6 June 2005

Are you kidding they can already tell you what you can't grow in your back yard garden.
Last year, after getting turned in for having an unauthorized bird feeder, when the “Vector Control Officer” (fancy name for rat catcher) showed up to cite me and order me to remove my wife's bird feeder, the overweight civil servant also cited my next door neighbor for growing corn and beans in their back yard garden, because those foods allegedly attract rats.

you still have to worry about cross pollination from GMO plants.

So, what do you do? Keep bees in your own greenhouse?

I’ve been waiting for the right moment to share some information from a book I just finished reading, SURVIVING THE ECONOMIC COLLAPSE (Fernando Ferfal Aguirre) which was written by a man who lived through the economic collapse of Argentina which happened in 2001 and is ongoing.

I think it is quite an encouraging thing to read given all that is going on especially given this latest control move on vitamins and food:

“Some people believe that armed citizens don’t stand a chance against an army, especially one as powerful as USA. This is the BS lie all governments around the world want you to believe, but the reality is very different.

If every block in the country, USA for example, has a dozen men with fire arms, the one that doesn’t stand a chance is the military force. It’s the perfect guerilla setup, and a general’s worst nightmare.

You can’t nuke or level every block. You can’t arrest the entire country. The “fighters” are already armed, fed, spread out, integrated and infiltrated into the military and government branches. It’s impossible to win.

That’s why dictators work desparately to disarm the citizenship.

The objective is an unarmed society unable to defend itself. It also reduces the morale regarding the power to actually fight a tyrannical government.

Unarmed people may not even question tyrants because they believe that since they are unarmed they have no power at all.

In Argentina, they passed a law “National Gun Emergency” that clearly states its objective as eliminating fire arms from the average population, leaving gun ownership only to the military, police and influential people that can afford to hire armed personnel.”

We are not at the Argentina stage yet, but.....
