The muscle flexes both ways. I recently fired my lawn and pool service companies and let them know it was because of the illegals they employ.

I do the same. I don't touch any businesses who hire anyone but Americans. However, the article addresses those Hispanics who are already here and able to vote. Even without the illegals, it's a huge and growing number.

Their self-appointed leaders have been urging them to complete Census forms as well. That hasn’t worked so well.

Hmmmm, Mexico has a voter ID law. Ditto for Canada. I guess it is okay for Canada and Mexico, but not the US, eh?

At this point, I dont care if they are legal or not. If they are sympathetic to illegals they wont get a dime of my money for anything.

"I think they know that the day is coming," Camarillo said. "That's why they are coming up with obstructions, such as voter ID laws."

In other words, they have to act while it's still relatively easy to commit voter fraud.

It is not just illegals. The legal and illegals are essentially the same people. We bring in 1.2 million legal immigrants a year, most of whom are poor, uneducated, and unskilled. 87% are minorities as defined by the USG and over two thirds are Hispanic. Add the 500,000 illegals who enter each year and you have the ingredients for a major change in demographics, which has been happening over 45 years since the 1965 Immigration Act.

The Democrats created the artificial category of “Hispanics” in the 1970s as a way to create another class of victims, which they could imbue with special rights and privileges, including affirmative action and minority business set asides for whites. The result is another minority group that votes Democrat. It doesn’t matter that, according to the Census Bureau, 51 percent of Hispanics self-identify themselves as white. The Census Bureau has even created the phony category of “non-Hispanic whites,” which are now 66 percent of the population and will be 50 percent in 2042. The reality is that “whites” will still be more than 70 percent of the population in 2042.

See my post #31. The majority of “Hispanics” will continue to vote Democrat. And in an interesting phenonenom, third and fourth generation Cubans are voting more Dem than Rep.

Could it be that some 3rd and 4th generation Hispanics are losing their family values ideals and assimilating into the Liberal mindset (Eg free abortion on demand, gun control, weakness all around, welfare handouts, ect)?

Absolutely. The Hispanic out of wedlock birthrate is 50% second only to the black rate of 68% and the school drop out rate is over 50%, the highest of any group. This is the social pathology for failure in this society. They are becoming part of a growing permanent underclass that will become more and more dependent upon big government and vote for the party of free stuff, the Dems.

Hispanic Family Values? Runaway illegitimacy is creating a new U.S. underclass.

I should also say that the Hispanics who are 2nd and 3rd generation who parents either came here legally or were granted asylum, and who are middle class, are very consistent Republicans.

They are a distinct minority. Republicans remind me of the factory owner who when told that he was losing five cents a widget and responded, "Don't worry, we'll make it up in volume."

Unless the Republicans slow down the rate of immigration, legal and illegal, they will become the permanent minority party. And as Professor Gimpel indicated, the latest immigrants are even more Dem than their predecessors. I blame groups like La Raza and the Dem party for fostering this group identity and class of victims. It is a powerful force that can Balkanize this country. What is happening is unprecedented in our history. We are being colonized.
