It should be legal to Taser Phillies fans wherever they are. Eagles fans too for that matter. Bravo!

Don’t run out on the field. Problem solved. Idiots who feel that their personal thrill (”the world revolves around me”) comes before 40,000 fans deserve whatever they get.
There’s never a bad time to tase a Phillies fan.
It was absolutely excessive force. Many people have died as a result of taser shocks. It is not intended to be a convenient form of crowd control for the police. There are too many police who feel they can use the taser without any attempt to restrain the person physically. This won’t be a joke when the Obama-bots start using tasers on Tea Party members they decide are “unruly”.

I sort of agree in that the use of tasers seems to have resulted in many unintended deaths. On the other hand, people who would run onto the field like that should realize they are taking a risk of that sort.
Probably what needs to happen is that they need to post signs every 15 feet saying “anyone who breaches this fence line without express and proper authority is subject to physical restraint including being tazed”... or along that line so that it is clear that would be a consequence.
Of course they would have to put that up there in 12 languages or some non-English speaker will sue...

It’s the name of a 1971 sci-fi movie called “THX 1138” starring Robert Duvall and directed by George Lucas .
In the movie robotic police use cattle prods to subdue the populace. Today’s taser is just a modern-day cattle prod for human beings.
Look it up online and read about it and then watch the movie. I think the whole thing is actually posted on YouTube.

The movie is a little disturbing not only for its content but also how much of it has become reality since its making. But the end of the movie does end on a positive note which I see happening now.
My hubby was at a Phillies game tonight. He said another guy ran out on the field tonight, and the crowd started chanting, “Tase him!”
