Not if you're from Poland and come here legally and have a Green Card.
Getting here legally is step one and a loooooong process.
Then passing your test is step two.
Then the waiting period to be sworn in after passing the test is step three.
And way back in post WWII days it was even harder, and took longer to get here for Europeans, like Lithuanians ('DP's', people without a country). It took my wife's parents years and years. They finally came here in 1956. They had about an Six Year wait for teh 'paperwork'.
And IIRC it was Fatso Kennedy who put even more limits on European immigrants with one of his STOO-PID™ Bills. Like immigrating from Poland and even Ireland.

I have no idea why we would limit first world immigration in favor of third world and Muslim immigration. Seems very backwards to me.
