WE ARE NASHVILLE...!!!
Section 303 ^ | May 4, 2010 | Patten Fuqua

Posted on 05/04/2010 9:51:42 PM PDT by dj_animal_2000

Allow me a moment to step away from the usual voice of this website.

What I am about to write has absolutely nothing to do with hockey.

If you live outside of Nashville, you may not be aware, but our city was hit by a 500-year flood over the last few days. The national news coverage gave us 15 minutes, but went back to focusing on a failed car bomb and an oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. While both are clearly important stories, was that any reason to ignore our story? It may not be as terror-sexy as a failed car bomb or as eco-sexy as an oil spill, but that’s no reason to be ignored.

Davidson County (Nashville) has been declared a disaster area so taxpayer money for rebuilt will be available.

The article is correct. No pictures of fools wading through the water with cases of beer or basketball goals. Just people helping others, the American and certainly Tennessee way.

It is sad the lack of coverage for your disaster. The MSM limits their Southern coverage to all things New Orleans or Florida.

Glad we can go online to get the other stories.

I know Nashville has been sidelined but did you know that in Montana we have had a huge snowtorm this weeK? NO ONE cares about us at all! At least your city got SOME coverage!

Don’t mean to be cold, although the weather report says it feels like 16 here tonight....59457

They only have, say, 24 hour news channels, they only have time for 2 top stories. geesh.

How sad is that?

Must be too many conservatives that sing patriotic songs, and believe the Constitution is still the basis of our Republic in that part of the country. If any liberal town had gotten hit - you would have heard more. Anybody keeping track of the catastrophes that are happening every week?

Find a way for the media to link Opinhead into it, and Nashville will get all the coverage they can stand.

The national news coverage gave us 15 minutes...

Sorry, American citizens need not apply. The hopey/changey administration is busy helping their real constituency, the illegals, at the present moment.

What, you mean no Shep or Whoreraldo staggering drunk and crying into the cameras? Guess Nashville just isn’t “so black” enough for Blitzer or the blitzed (Shep and Jerry Rivers).

I don’t mean to bust the Dixie illusion but Nashville proper is EXTREMELY liberal and not very southern anymore.

The surrounding areas are still fairly conservative and somewhat “hill” southern if you know what I mean.

no looting to speak of and a lot of this happened near bad hood areas...

Yeah, sad to say the Nashville I grew up in no longer exists, it’s now a cross between San Francisco (rich White relocated Marxists) and Ciudad Juarez (illegals).

Has 0z0mb0 dispatched the SWAT teams to intimidate the rain yet?

He's sent them everywhere else inappropriate.

We are Memphis

PhotobucketNAF Memphis is probably the 2nd largest military facility in Tennessee. I have not heard a peep of concern out of The Administration.

Can’t blame Bush. Can’t blame angry republicans. Can’t blame the Catholic church.

The situation doesn’t fit any of their categories. Nothing to see here - move along.

Sad but true. Here in liberal-dominated Oregon, Clinton made a personal appearance about 14 years ago, when it appeared the Willamette River might overflow its banks.

Sand bags were put in place by thousands of volunteers, and no flooding occured. But it was national news.
Tennessee is just getting punished for voting R.
Algore has moved to California, where the political climate is better.

God bless the great city of Nashville, the great volunteer state of Tennessee and the amazing citizens there.

Prayers for those who lost loved ones, their homes and businesses.

I love ya’ll and will get out the word to send more to help families.

Well sheesh what do you expect, it's Nashville.

A city composed of Racist Redneck Country Musicians who spew nothing but 'hate music'. You know 'hate music', that stuff about God, The USA, Love (of the opposite sex), Family, and those evil gun thingys.

Why I heard one 'hate song', that had the gall to mention rounding up bad guys and hanging them. Some old Redneck named Willie made it with another younger Redneck. I really don't know why that stuff is allowed?!?

So get over it Nashville, you are a city of HATERS and get what you deserve!

I moved from Nashville in 1979. The Corps said then that the city would never be flooded again. I guess the Opryland Hotel and the Ryan were inundated.

Well, in keeping with our reputation for being racist here goes. You know why there was no national coverage here? Its cuz we didn’t have any black people on our roofs. Hey. You know it’s true. This place is a disaster area. I have been (but shouldn’t have been) stunned by the lack of coverage. Although I will say the local news has been outstanding.

What I've been posting on some other threads where Barry has ignored these disasters is.

'Obama Hates White People'

So given the MSM are his lapdogs they follow suit and so they 'Hate White People' too and won't cover it :-)

It's kinda fun mocking the Left for their Bush Hates Black People bull.

Looks like the Ryman only had minor flooding. The Opryland Hotel had 10ft of water though.

That is scary since the river is usually fifteen or twenty feet BELOW the level ground there. Last time I was there (about 12 years ago) we took the boat ride on River from the hotel.
