Whoops! CO2 has almost nothing to do with global warming, discovers top US meteorologist
Telegraph.co.UK ^ | May 5, 2010 | James Delingpole

Posted on 05/05/2010 7:16:35 AM PDT by marstegreg

Dr Spencer, formerly senior scientist for climate studies at NASA, now leads the US science team for the Advanced Microwave Scanning Radiometer for EOS (AMSRE) on NASA’s Aqua satellite. He co-developed the original satellite method for precise monitoring of global temperatures from Earth-orbiting satellites. He’s just the kind of egghead the IPCC claims to represent when it tells us the world is getting dangerously warmer, it’s man’s fault – the result of CO2 emissions – and it must be urgently addressed. Except Dr Spencer doesn’t agree with any of that. He thinks it’s all nonsense, based on a very elementary error he describes in his new book The Great Global Warming Blunder. I summarise his arguments in this article.

Uh oh, he's just a meteorologist. He's not a real climate scientist, like, say, an Astronomer would be. </sarcasm>

All global warming, well 99.999999999999999999999999%, comes from our sun. The remainder comes from the rest of the suns in our galaxy and that other one far, far away!

All you have to do is study our jungles to see this...

Especially the under growth!

But we thought ALL scientists had drunk the koolaid of anthropomorphic global warming. If the U N says it, it must be true, right?

Here's an analysis that shows that Man's CO2 contribution to the greenhouse effect is 0.117%.

Spencer has been saying this for a long time. It’s what got him fired from NASA.

If Al Gore had become POTUS,
I don’t think he would have, or even could have,
done as much to push the AGW hoax.

He has two driving motivations -
making himself feel important by saving the erf
and enriching himself through the carbon trading scam.

The first motivation would have been satisfied by being elected, the second might have been more difficult because
of the “blind trust” that his investments would have been in.

Not that I’m saying we’d be better off, mind you.

Roy Spencer is Rush's climatologist, and he would be the first to report he didn't "discover" anything. He's been a true scientist, i.e., a skeptic, on AGW from "Day One," as the Obami like to say in unison.

Highly recommend his blog.

No, but there is some interesting reading in that book.

I looked for a hard copy quite a while, finally found one in a book store in MO. They wanted $50 for it, I passed. When I discovered Project Gutenberg that solved that problem.

When I originally read the book I spent a weekend in a small town in eastern KS and it was in the local library. Spent a couple of days there reading it. (could not check it out, I was out of state. I guess I could have gotten it “on loan”.)

It is interesting to me that the RF and EE techies are generally very conservative (many came up through military). Almost all of my old Ham tech friends are pro-MIL right wing gun toters. Some worse than I am.

But many of the computer techies are lefties. There are some very technical computer guys, but not in the young crowd.

It is dangerous to speak in generalities, but that is my observation.
