"But Bennett committed the ultimate sin in tea party circles. He voted for the Troubled Assets Relief Program (TARP), a.ka. "bank bailout," during the George W. Bush administration."

After the 2010 elections are done with, I will look for a Presidential candidate to support who opposed such things when the GOP establishment was for it. Jim DeMitt is one of the few who fits the bill.

True.

But I’d still hit it.

The Tea Party is made up of Americans from all walks and back grounds....this is what is putting terror in the Progressives and Obama.

Saul Alinsky's Rules For Radicals:

13. Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it. In conflict tactics there are certain rules that [should be regarded] as universalities. One is that the opposition must be singled out as the target and 'frozen.'...

"...any target can always say, 'Why do you center on me when there are others to blame as well?' When your 'freeze the target,' you disregard these [rational but distracting] arguments.... Then, as you zero in and freeze your target and carry out your attack, all the 'others' come out of the woodwork very soon. They become visible by their support of the target...'

I hate it when liberal journalists try to define the tea party movement. If they really want to pigeon hole something, why don't they tell us about democrats? Odd how they see them as “complex” difficult to define. Bull.

I have no problem with her favoring a different candidate than the Tea partiers, but to characterize their choice as a “purge” is beyond stupid. People have a right to vote for candidates they prefer. It’s not a purge, it’s an election.

It's the MSM carefully chosing which word to use. For example, in 1994 the Republicans "Took Over" Congress. They didn't win, they weren't elected, they weren't chosen by the people. Nope, they "took over" like some banana republic junta which would soon be removed by the legitimate government (i.e. the Democrats).

That's one reason why the Dems fear and hate the Tea Party. It is largely a leaderless revolution driven by a cause rather than a leader and his personality. A leader provides a target for the Dems and MSM to lie about. No leader = no primary target that can be frozen and attacked.

Kathleen Parker is an a**hole. I don’t know why you post her crap here.

I believe it is as important to know the enemy as it is to share agreeable viewpoints.

Wrong. Conservatism is what distinguished Republicans from democrats before the rinos crept in. Let the rinos find a new watering hole. The Tea Party is not interested in being a third party.

The GOP is not a conservative party, and it never will be. It is controlled by the same elitists that control the Democrat party. For conservative rule to be possible, the GOP must first be neutralized as a political party.
