WASHINGTON - The midterm congressional elections are seven months away. Republicans are already promising a strong effort to take back the majority and they're attracting candidates who are already making history.
At least 30 African-Americans in 16 states are running for the U.S Senate and the House of Representatives. It's a surge of black Republican activism that America hasn't seen since the Reconstruction era.
Returning to Slavery?
Charles Lollar is one of the candidates. As a major in the Marine Corps Reserves and a businessman, Lollar is taking on the second most powerful Democrat in the House, Majority Leader Steny Hoyer of Maryland.
Lollar said that just as he felt drawn to serve his country, he feels called to run against those he says are steering America off track.

Saw this on TV the other day and it will probably replay.
GREAT NEWS! Just make sure they are CONSERVATIVES first!
There are black conservatives? Gasp!
If you pay attention to the mainstream media, there aren’t any.
You can date the corruption of America in a straight line to 1877.
Glad to hear this if true! About time that people realized that their future depends on who they vote for. Doubt that this will raise the conscience of those that continue to think that skin color (seems to be mostly Democrats) is the key but even if it changes a few minds, that is a good start.
The more the merrier. Check your color at the door...I only see “conservative”.
Charles Lollar has a promising future in conservative politics.

Succinct and to the point!
They are just conservatives.
That is so important. If you go any further, you become an idiot liberal.
Lord help us!
Teh liberals are going to be keeping Oreo in business.
Just in case the news wasn’t bad enough for the DemonRats this November. They could also lose the Black vote.
“GREAT NEWS! Just make sure they are CONSERVATIVES first!”
Definitely, we should develop a Colin-oscopy to root out any RINOS.
“Conservatives are not black, pink or purple. They are just conservatives. That is so important. If you go any further, you become an idiot liberal.”
Don King, the new face of the GOP?!
Impressive list, after you have enough of them, it doesn’t matter anymore (to me and many others) what color they are. I would love it if we could just get on with being PEOPLE, but race is a reality in America, in the world and — as we saw with Arizona and the 2008 election -— when the chips are down, people stick with racial identity.
Rush nailed it with the “politics of identity.”
I prefer the identity of AMERICAN over race.
Ironic, when you realize it's occurring during the admin of the first "Black" president.
What % of blacks always votes for democrats in every election since the 70’s? Something well over 90%. I really hope nobody’s counting on that 10% growing any or making any difference.
He IS impressive.
