Usually a handful of ex-soldiers seeks political office every election cycle. But more than 20 Iraq and Afghanistan veterans are running this fall for Congress alone. Almost all are riding a wave of public anger at incumbents over a profligate government and dishonest Wall Street -- and a general feeling that the Democratic remedy has proven as bad as, or worse than, the GOP disease.

Good! Would be nice if we had a list of these veterans running for office. Is there a link to these future politicians?
Thanks EternalVigilance.
I want to see Vets first followed by doctors. No lawyers.
Though I do like Chris Christie in NJ and Ken Cuccinelli in VA - both are attorneys.

COMBAT VETERANS FOR CONGRESS
Col Chris Gibson in NY20 (from the article) is my district. We’re pretty enthused about him...hope to turn our previously red district, back to red
These guys need our support & donations.

Thanks, we need all the decent people we can get...
We also live in NY 20th- we attended a meeting for volunteers last weekend with over 200 enthusiastic volunteers turning out for the colonel. Folks around the country would be proud of this guy..he’a about preserving and restoring the Constitution, about preserving our freedom and liberty, about reducing the size of government which means having the guts to face the public unions and the hand ringing sob stories that will come from cutting gov’t programs and about reducing the tax burden on folks who work hard for a living. I’d encourage freepers to help him out. We’re running against a one term Pelosi supporter, Scott Murphy, who barely eeked out a win in a special election in this traditionally Republican district. We can win this one folks!
Hello to a nearby FReeper. I missed the meeting at West MTN - something came up at the very last minute. Got my packet & signs tho.
Col Gibson is very inspiring, I even got a lib to sit through watching his homepage video :)
