The game of lacrosse originated with Native Americans , largely the Huron and Iroquois tribes. Westerners—missionaries and fur trappers—first saw it in the 1600’s. The Indians would play the game as symbolic warfare, with hundreds of men at a time, for days on end, with fields that knew no boundaries. Some historical records suggest that they would sometimes play to the death.
George Huguely played lacrosse on a field that knew no boundaries. He played it to the death– his ex-girlfriend’s death; or so the reporting goes. But the story line is bogus.
Granted, there is little doubt of his guilt. He has admitted as much in grisly detail. But the reporting of it and the reaction to it is as full of stereotypes and bias as anything you’ll read into todays mainstream press. It’s a bias that stokes the fires of classism, racism, and sexism...

I will suggest that the main reason the UVA story gets so much national attention is that is can be used to further advance the MSM’s biases regarding gender, class, race, and sports. The MSM loves this narrative (they got plenty of practice with it during the Duke case) and here’s another shot at it for them.
If this were just a story of “man kills girlfriend after breakup”,
it would rate two paragraphs in the local paper, and nothing more.
Is Lacrosse largely white players?
Dave Chappelle had a great comedy routine about the Elizabeth Smart case, and compared the enormous media coverage of her disappearance to the disappearance of a much younger black girl in Philadelphia who was abducted, managed to chew her way through the rope her assailants used to tie her up, escaped, and called the police to the location to arrest the perps.
To paraphrase Chappelle in his routine: "And even with all that sh!t going on, she still got home that afternoon in time to watch Sesame Street."

Jim Brown was an All-American lacrosse player at Syracuse.
Some say Jim Brown is the greatest lacrosse player ever.
He admitted it, with details? I must have missed that. What happened?
Lacrosse is about as white as ice hockey, but not as white as swimming. There are a few non-white players who are exceptionally good, but the vast majority are still white.
Unfortunately the lacrosse players don’t do too much to dispel the stereotype that they’re elitist jerks. The sport seems to attract more than it’s fair share.
Of course La Cross players have issues. They are playing a girls games
