I’m thinking “Guns of August”, while it’s got a nice literary ring to it, would be a tad premature.
If they “torch the Reichstag” in August, that’s nearly three months prior to the scheduled November elections, and come early November people are likely to be expecting things to be somewhat settled-down, and are less likely to put up with delayed/cancelled elections.
I’d be more inclined to expect a festering race-war after the release of “Machete” to lead to a classic “October Surprise”.
I could be wrong.
I’m thinking August and no later, because by then, it’ll be apparent even to the monsters who run the White House that they’re going to lose, and lose big in November. Their sheer hubris and impatience will drive them to naked totalitarianism.
Let’s pray that this cinematic toxic waste bombs badly.
