Agreed, All Foreign Flags should be banned except in text books. This is the US, this isn’t an international refugee camp.

200 Mexican kids walked out of class and demanded respect, waving Mexico flags.

Will they get punished??

If I was the principle I would make them each write a 500 word essay on the American Flag......

~LOL~ you and I seem to be the only two so far this week that know the actual history. Mexican independence day is in September... but.. wanna bet none of these kids — on either side — know the actual history? Because IMHO it actually gives our kids a lot of rights to show pride since without General Sheridan Mexico would likely be a subsidiary of France.

They “should” have taught you about May 5th as it related to the USA, Napolean and the war between the states.

My mother spoke Spanish fluently as well, as did all her family, but she was born in Colorado in 1927 and her fater was born in New Mexico in 1900, etc. The treaty of Guadalupe in 1850 gave them their land and they truly considered themselves American....But my father’s family didn’t want him to marry that “Mexican” white girl in 1948 and turned their backs on him when he did. But you know what? My Hispanic relatives were so much more loving than the supposedly “white” ones ever were and my Hispanic Great Uncle was in the Bataan death march and survived.
What I am saying is that this war between the whites and the browns is totally stupido and unnecessary...and we won it in 1850. I am half Hispanic and totally white and American. No one would ever say anyone in my family is brown except if they had been on a cruise to the Carribean!

Had to rant a bit, sorry.

Many facts were taught to me about our American history, but........

I know that May 5th wasn’t framed in the manner which it is being shoved down our throats today.

I said it before and am saying it now:

I never heard of a holiday called Cinco de whatever. And I grew up and went to a public school in a very mexican/American city right on the border.

That is me as well.

Half hispanic but totally American to the core.

I stated this in the census.
I don’t claim I am anything but American. That is the truth and all they need to know.

You must be referring to Stinko-Dey-Mayonnaise...or some other ridiculous phony Mexican drinking holiday dreamed up by beer distributors to boost sales ..

You stand up to the bully and the bully will back down. Always stand up to the bullies and you will win because bullies they are cowards. This SOB must be removed from his job as principal.

That is probably it.

Had a hotdog and watched a baseball game that day. Celebrated my good fortune that I am an American.

More than 200 Hispanic students reportedly skipped class on Thursday and marched to school district headquarters while chanting "we want respect" and "si se puede" -- "yes we can," the Morgan Hill Times reported.

What the f*** does "yes we can" have to do with this issue. The only reason they're chanting it, is because they're trying to get Odumbo involved, directly. These little bastards are giving him a shout out, trying to turn this into a national incident. I would have suspended every last one of them for skipping school, or cutting classes. That'll never happen though because some people in this country are "more equal" than others. Same game, just different players with different colored shirts. It's disgusting beyond repulsion and I'm fed up with it.

Somewhere Mexicans (too many) got the idea they are special and above it all...and the laws and rules don't apply to them.

“What the heck has happened to our Country and to our schools? “

My son is currently taking classes on-line for a degree in Criminal Justice. I can not tell you how many times I’ve become absolutely LIVID over the course work. He’s not even IN a classroom, but the material for every single class thus far has been extremely and decidedly from a progressive left perspective.

The following holidays are optional:

"* May 5 - Cinco de Mayo, Batalla de Puebla (Battle of Puebla) "

Optional Holiday?

"Although Mexican citizens feel very proud of the meaning of Cinco de Mayo, it is not a national holiday in Mexico, but it is an official holiday in the State of Puebla where the mentioned battle took place."
